What to do when one's frustration level goes over the top? Update/brief history on the Warhorse project: Rotisserie body/paint restoration in 2014, Mechanical restoration somewhat finished in 2017 however... after months of trying to get the Wilwood power brakes to work, the fuel gauge to give...
Thanks for all the replies. I discovered a few things in the meantime that confirms much of all the input I have received. Turns out the OEM gauge was connected to the water pump housing, drivers side 1/8 NPT sender and so still operates perfectly. The larger one on the passenger side was...
Found a possible candidate at the Standard Motor Products website: Coolant sensor TS18. It says it is meant to drive a mechanical temp gauge and is threaded 1/8" NPT. Amazon has it and also lists it for a '68 Charger 440 engine. I'll test it when it arrives.
Friends,
I am installing a Holley Sniper EFI system on my stroked 440. The coolant sensor that is provided by the Sniper mounts to the passenger-side water pump housing, the same spot that the OEM sensor mounts to drive the dash coolant temp gauge. Note that this is the 3/8 NPT fitting. On...
I'm going thru my post history and trying to update. My tie rod-rubbling-oil pan issue was solved by changing the steering arm back to stock. The one I was using came with the steering gearbox that may have been for a faster ratio (i.e. Police).
Yup, well I threw in the towel with Edelbrock. Decided to go with Holley's Sniper throttle body system. Most stuff is in-stock however the OEM tank and pump won't be available until Jan 2022. I can do prep work over Christmas in anticipation.
Anyone know what's going on at Edelbrock? I am aware that they are moving from CA, but that was last year. I have been waiting since July 2020 for a Pro-Flo 4 EFI system for my 440.
Hmmmm, that's a pretty good idea. The hoses have always been in the way of the distributor especially. On the other hand I'm wondering why I opted for AC in the first place.
I would need to re-route AC hoses and tweak the upper rad hose at the very least, but that is minor compared to a hood work. You've been a BIG help, thnx!
Nice but sure would like to see a measuring tape along side. Looks like the 4150 is slightly taller than the Perf manifold; I currently run the Torquer manifold and literally have <1/2" hood clearance with an Edelbrock Thunder carb and drop air cleaner. From the pics it looks like the XT may...
