Can’t remember if I mentioned my car in the past but anyway. So this is the result of over seven years on a rotisserie. Body & paint pretty much finished and ready for assembly.
Taking a stab in the dark I guess, but no harm in asking. I’d like to purchase an aluminum 8.75 carrier (p4876445), I know they’re pricey. I am trying to build a very lightweight 68 B body, aluminum everything, thanks
I have just about enough 18 spline guts to build a 2nd trans. I would like to use an aluminum case and tail housing for weight savings, but I’m worried about strength as it will be used with 600+ hp big block. I have an aluminum case that has been sleeved for counter shaft. Anyone out there done...
I’m wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone installing a 68 charger grille & doors assembly into a 68 Coronet. I would like to customize my coronet this way and would probably use a new repop assembly. Any thoughts?
A note about ethanol though, there are ethanol/gasoline blends that are 105-113 octane and will support CR's from 13.1 to 20.1. So if I learn how to build an ethanol friendly engine that may be the route.
I am going to run a cam that will lower dynamic CR, that and 94 octane. I ran a 440 with an engle solid cam, 11.1cr on 94 octane for several years, no problems at all, even on 92 occasionally. Maybe its the canadian gas, I also avoid any fuel mixed with enthanol.
It was originally RR1 Burgundy Poly with a maroon/red interior (bench seat), but I'm going with black and the same maroon/red interior. I have a 383 ready to go, .030 over, 11.5cr, perf rpm intake, headers. I've also converted the car to manual and have an 18 spline trans. going to use a dana 60...
My Coronet has been striped down to the last screw and on a rotisserie for 6 years now. Final paint is nearly done and assembly can begin.
I thought I would share a few pics.
Thanks for all the replies, Just wanted to make sure before I invest in parts and start putting it together. Final paint just about done and can soon start assembly.
I would like to ask the more knowledgeable people if they think this is possible or is there too much interference? I’m building a 68 Coronet 383 4spd and want to incorporate a/c (sanden comp mounted below alt), power brakes, power steering and headers. Will it all fit? Thanks
I am converting a 68 Coronet to 4 speed, I have most of the parts but need a photo showing how the factory cut the floor before the tunnel (hump) tacks on. I know about being careful with the crossmember, and that it isnt cut to full size of hump. I see lots of pics of topside with hump...
I have a chance to pick up an Edelbrock STR 15 intake for low deck, and wondering if anyone knows anything about modifing these for better performance? I have heard they will work better on big inch strokers and I would be using it on a 383/496. Ive heard stuff about popsicle sticks, epoxy and...
No need to get fancy, powr-lok sure grip for $395 will work fine, its rebuildable and I have run one in a 489 behind 500+ hp and a 4spd for over 10 years. Still lays down thick even black strips.
I am thinking about putting together a fairly cheap & kind of experimental 440.
I have a mid 70's 440 block std bore, very light use as the cylinders are still within spec.
I bought a new set of Silvolite pistons with 1.912 CH. I originally planned on shaving block & closed chamber (75cc) heads...
