I used a 2008 32 foot gas burner for 6 years towing all over the place chasing the NMCA points. The ford V10 with a banks kit works great.
I towed a 2001 pace shadow trailer with a heavy door car, 4 wheeler and a ton of parts, fuel and tools. Do not let folks talk you out of one.
I have also...
They do a great job moving the program along. When we go to the NMCA/NMRA combo races there are even more classes. They typically try to run round one on Saturday evening at those events.
I just about screwed that one up... I am grateful it went our way.
I know of 6 NSS folks running theirs modified like that. Some say they are quicker, some say nothing changed. I believe all of them I know of are 540 and smaller combos in fairly light cars. I would like to see back to back numbers with an unaltered -25, this modification -25 and then my...
Think about what you want from the car long term. I knew I wanted to run multiple classes with mine. One of them had a 29.5x10.5w tire limit. The tire limit has grown over the years to a 33x10.5W which is a big tire. I still run the smaller 10.5 tire. So I mini tubbed mine. That was 20 years...
Doug has done a great job answering the NMCA rules questions. To make it easier, NMCA rules can be found at this link.

Yes 2 x 4 edelbrock 750 carbs. I run Nostalgia super stock. I ran it out of the box for 4 years on a 499 motor. Since then, I have worked with plenum spacers to raise the lid. I have used different air dams or fillers. It has been worth a little ET but I have found a combination that yielded a...
I dont remember who commented on the modman.
It works just fine. I have been 9.40s at 140mph with a modman and a pair of edelbrocks on a 540 in a heavy car. Put the time and effort into testing and trying things and you will find what your combination wants.
The PBR was made to bridge that gap between better et and consistency. It is more forgiving than the previous radials. My car is more consistent on a radial than it was on a bias.
I have afco double adjustables on the rear.
I had them on the front also. I could not get the front loose enough. I went back to a comp engineering front just to get more travel. It really likes it. I have run an NMCA event, a nostalgia event and a local bracket race in 100 degree heat and it...
i run 17-18lbs in mine depending on weight added for index.
last race: 1.340, 1.346, 1.342, 1.342, 1.346, 1.342
My rebound was already loose as I was hitting my bias too hard. I stiffened up my shocks 3 clicks. i think the key is on the other end though! LOOSE on the front!
9.60 would be more attainable in a lower maintenance piece. I have been 9.490 at 139.99 with my 540 and at 3580lbs.
My combo is not exotic at all.
540
indy aluminum block
4.5 stroke crank
4.375 bore diamond shelf piston
13.5-14 to 1 comp
Indy 440-1 345 cnc heads

dvw, do you have a picture handy of yours? I ran one on mine toying with it but had trouble with the bracket moving. The way the Edelbrocks are situated on the modman made it a challenge to say the least.
As mentioned, you need to tighten the shocks. We have had caltracs on both of our cars. The shocks were always tight. Calvert always recommended setting them at full stiff and working back the other way to find your ideal combination.
The weight missing in the trunk has nothing to do with your...
The first thing that comes to mind for me is this...
Are you sure the scales are correct?
I have 2 coronets. The car I drive is a 66. It weighs 3480 with me in it before I add weight to move it to an index. It has a glass hood, bumpers and deck lid. The 1/4 glass in mine is lexan due to a...
