What do you have and why do you like them?
I have these Moroso pieces of junk.
Looking to change them over the winter.
2 came loose this weekend and my hood looked like a T.P. going down the track.

hey mike have you used those duz fasteners. i hope i spelled it right are they any good. maybe for a hood.

I used repro ones made of stainless from Dantes mopar parts very good !!!

Dig deeper, Summit has aluminum pins. Nice, light, cheap.

For some reason, I can't see myself spending $800 -$1,000 bucks on 8 hood pins.

These are the ones on the car now.
STAY AWAY!

I like the torsion-style, mine are stainless pins with aluminum bases. I do NOT use the provided mounting screws but rather some bolts and nuts (I think I used some 12-32s). You can also get the torsion pins themselves at most hardware stores if you ever need one in a pinch..

I probably won't be following their instructions.

I have the 69.5 RR A12 hood pins,
trim & lock pins with lanyards on my 68
got them from Year One 10+ years ago
can't remember how much, sorry
I liked the fact the lanyards were attached to the lock pins

Dzus fasteners are another choice too
depends on how much room, where & how thick
depends on the hood or body panels how thick etc.
need to know how thick to order the proper depth & sizes
many come with the backing plate & springs,
some come with rivets even
some minor fab work
bending some steel or alum
90* plates to mount under the area you wish to hold down
possible some welding of tabs or some riveting will be necessary
They're available at most all performance, fabrication or avionics
parts supply, Jegs Summit etc. has a decent selection too

That's what most people use on racecars,
they're light, easy to install & do the job well

I need to look at locations on the pins that I have now.
I'd like to go with the dzus fittings but it may be more trouble than it's worth right now.

Trouble with Dzus is if the hood has to come off quick someone better have a tool in their pocket. I've had the Summit aluminum pins for 6 years. I even used the cut off extra length to extend the front pins. No issue what so ever.
