It's been done. A hardtop to a convertible.

Yes! And now its been done. A 66-67 hardtop with a/c into a 68-69 convertible non a/c. The a-pillars are made up of three individual pieces spot welded together. I cut them in a way to leave me a 6 inch overlap from one a-pillar to the other. Everything is measuring spot on!

This is what I found out. After measuring sections with calipers and angles with a protractor, I have determined that the a-pillars are the same for the most part. I have attached photos below to help explain. There is some type of drip rail on the hardtop that is not on the convertible...

From what I can tell the windshield frames/a-pillars are the same on a 66-67 hardtop to a 68-70 convertible. The geometry changed at 68, but only on the hardtops. Can anyone confirm this synopsis? Thanks!
