My non-Hillman Imp. Lol. Dad bought this one in the late 70s, another in the early 80s No jumping.
That Hillman Imp needs a Turbocharged Hyabusa in it!
I forgot that the OP has a 73 Charger. Short of the 15x10 keystones with the ridiculous bs, he can probably put almost anything on it. Big wheelwells, full round. They might stick out a bit.
40 year old American 200S, (daisies). The 15x7s have just under 4" backspace, and will fit anywhere. The 15x8.5 have around 3 1/2" bs. They would probably fit a camaro or mustang with full round open wheelwell openings, but they won't fit my 62 Savoy (which is where I would like em) my 69 RR, or...
The only bonafidies I have of my mopar origins are on vhs tape, of my Savoy at LACR in the late 80s/early 90s.
I somehow have misplaced (I think it was on my tablet that died) the pic of my A12 at riverside in 87. (Riverside closed at the end of 1988 season.)
Most of the reviews I found of the cat stuff (rods and "4340" cranks) have been on corvette forums. They are not impressed. Chinese metal of unknown quality, and shabby machining.
In my opinion, Eagle doesn't have the best reputation either.
For a decent quality rod at a decent price, I'd...
I'm with you, I build em for me, the way I want.
However, I can't see anybody building a GL that DOESNT want to be noticed and talked about. Therefore I think it matters to him. Heck, he asked if he could get away (assuming with his anticipated critics) with using flat paint!
I think you are...
Not CAT, (caterpillar) maybe C.A.T. (chinese, ebay specials?)
To me, brand is immaterial. If you've already had rod bearing problems with them, I'd consider them paper weights.
If you want quality Chinese rods with superior bolts and US machining, I'd look into Molnar h-beams.
If I liked keystones (which I dont), with those backspaces available...... I'd run 15x7s all around. Most likely to fit. (Of the extra inch wider 15x8, seven eighths of it is toward the fender).
Almost any tire that will fit on a 15x8 can be used on a 15x7, and you might even be able to put a...
As I understand it, the linkage hole to butterfly shaft distance is different on a edelbrock carb, compared to a 3705Carter. I think it causes problems having full throttle and idle speed adjustments.
IF I remember right, the linkage hole on a 3705 is 1.5" from the throttle shaft. I have an...
I'd use that bell in a street car, if weight didn't mean anything.
You want safety in a 7500 rpm racecar application? Buy a new scattershield! (With a block saver!).
Have you ever seen the results of a clutch/flywheel explosion?
I have, first hand at the racetrack. Cast iron flywheel, aluminum...
My opinion:
There are more than enough general Lee's in existence now, 95% of which are crappy clones, we don't need any more. I don't think I've spent 20 seconds looking at one, ever.
Want to be different? Do a General Lee on ANYTHING BUT a charger!
Use a Toyota, paint it flat orange, put...
Bristol Fan hasn't been here for nearly five years. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a reply.
I still think my advice was good, and might apply to you too.
Edit: the 10k euro comment, should probably be 15k now.
The keystones you're looking at move the tire farther away from the springs and upper control arm, compared to your current setup.
I'd be more worried about rubbing the fenders.
I can almost guarantee the 15x10s won't fit unless you jack the back up to the moon.
I use an Uplula, works great for me on everything from 22 to 45, and everything in between.. I haven't tried it on my 50 round 10-22, but I doubt it will work on those.
Well, usually they don't make noises. They just quit working. (The cone bottoms out on the case. )
If you do a burnout, and it's a right tire one wheel peel, your cone is toast, and will only get worse if you abuse it Too much abuse, and nobody will be able to salvage it.
A worn out cone can be...
