I agree with 440 4sd. It looks like the clip that holds my hood release cable on my 66 Charger. Car is in storage so I can't ck. for sure or take a pic. As he said a possible odd part mixed in with yours???
Great suggestions here one and all. Maybe ck. the voltage on both sides of the cutoff switch cold and then hot. Might be high resistance through the switch when hot after running for some time.
According to my 1966 factory parts catalogue there is an AM-FM radio listed for a 66 Charger. The part number is 2661222 and the model number on the radio should be 370
How about checking the alternator charge rate at start up and when the issues happen. Voltage should be about 14.2 or so. Long shot I know but you need to rule it out.
I agree with all the other posters as to which cars had certified speedos. I used to do dealership PDI's on police vehicles. Each car with the certified speedo would have a paper in the glove box stating what the actual speed was and what the speedo showed. E.G the speedo might show 60 MPH when...
