1972 Charger SE 440 Return fuel line?

This a '72, first year for the charcoal canister. That vent line would go all the way up to the charcoal canister, front right corner of engine bay next to radiator. Many people cap that line as they did on my 72, but the evap design should really be restored to factory design. It causes gas...

Mystery rough idle - barely run

Actually, this turned out to be a vacuum leak. With the Edelbrock carb and performer intake you need a particular adapter. Got that and put AVS2 back on. Runs perfect!

Why? How? the designs of the early 70's mopars...

I'm glad I started this thread, even though I might have pissed off some early on, but the tread became long and interesting. l It's really fun to hear opinions of our 71-74's. Does anyone know the history of the designs? Particularly the Chargers? who was involved, etc.? It's obvious that it...

That upward scoop I see on 68/69 chevelle's ya. I always thought maybe ma took that idea for the 71/72s and perfected it for the Charger. If you look at a vinyl roof Chevelle, even the trim pieces look identical.

Why? How? the designs of the early 70's mopars...

So, no strife intended here with the original post. I happen to be an OG 2nd Charger guy who can only afford a third gen, then subsequently found them much more awesome for various reasons. I posted this in the 71-74 section for this reason. That said, I'm really interested in the development...

Why? How? the designs of the early 70's mopars...

Nice post. I agree. the 71 redo was impressive. I'd like to know the design cycle into the third gens. I met the gentleman that designed the 1969 charger front grill and taillights a few years ago at Carlisle. He was a man in his 80's and he had the original color layouts with him. His design...

Why? How? the designs of the early 70's mopars...

True, but I thought Ma really did a good job of refining the charger shape. Friend, I am a second gen OG. I had two of them in highschool back in the day. My first love for sure. But I really like the 3rd gen feel.

Pics? we all know what the look like. They look cooler then second gens. Sorry, but I am standing up for third gens.

Why? How? the designs of the early 70's mopars...

I would like to like the group to talk about the third gen muscle era mopars. Does anyone know how they actually came about? I'm so sick of second Charger's for example. I don't care if I never see another one, because I like ours so much better. They are lower, wider, drive much better. We've...

1970 Roadrunner tail lights do not work

My bet is it's the faulty turn signal switch. If the "new" one mentioned is aftermarket they are pos and fail easily.

    1971-1974 Charger Parts

Electrically, I would say to stay away from repro turn signal switches. I went through 3 and they all failed and finally I sourced a used NOS one and no problems. Trim pieces, the repro items you can find in the Classic Industries catalog I think are pretty good. I replaced my front bumper arrow...
