My 67 Arizona Salvage yard find

D, thanks for the positive comment and to all those who have provided comments or a thumbs up previously they are much appreciated. I assembled the grill, trim and bumpers which were all in nice shape with the exception of a few pieces of trim that needed some massaging. The rear taillight...

My 67 Arizona Salvage yard find

At some point and a big kicker to restoring this car to running condition was locating an interior along with the rear window that as many know they just weren’t that common to find. I was fortunate or maybe it was just persistence that paid off for me as I found an ad in Hemmings if I remember...

My 67 Arizona Salvage yard find

I big ticket item to get this car back on the road was finding a reasonable motor and transmission. I can be frugal at times and part of the fun for me is to find a deal and keep the build cost low. I wasn’t aware of it previously, but a fellow worker had a 70s New Yorker with a 440. He had...

    I caught the prick

I have one of those quilted moving blankets I picked up from Harbor Frieght. I fold it in half and hold it up in front of me as I approach the trap and ease it over the top. If a skunk can't see you he won't waste a shot on you or just doesn'rt recognize the blanket as a threat. Never had one...

    I caught the prick

A skunk dug under my front concrete stairs and on occasion would spray that area which filtered into the house. about 4 years ago it was happening often enough where I purchased a trap and skunk was in season. I baited the trap with peanut butter on bread. In 4 weeks I caught 12 skunks, 1...

My 67 Arizona Salvage yard find

The car sat as in my garage just as the previous pictures show for some time. I was still looking for parts to get an idea of what was available and cost to put this car back together. I had a good friend John that used to rib me about the car just setting there taking up good space. We rode...

My 67 Arizona Salvage yard find

Previous picture of 1/4 panels and doors was some late night misguided humor maybe but your statement is 100%. We had to shove some wood blocks between the axl and frame to get clearance for the rear tires to get it on the trailer for the ride from work to the house. A few small dents can be...

My 67 Arizona Salvage yard find

The floors & trunk were rust free like the rest of the car. The Arizona sun cooked what was left of the interior so only the drivers seat and a rear cushion came in the car. There were some dings and a good size dent in the trunk pan where it looked like it may have come down on a lose tire. I...

My 67 Arizona Salvage yard find

I located this rust-free sheet metal specimen in Arizona back in the 90s on the internet. Internet is nothing like it is today for search options for car parts. Seller sent me the hard copy pictures below by standard mail along with pictures of 3 other 67 chargers he had for sale at the salvage...

    Spiders in my shop

"Miss Muffet's Revenge" is a product I use and seems to work well. You spray it and leave it dry clear. I buy mine at Ace hardware. Works for months.

    Just bought a 67 charger... it’s rough!

I remember seeing it advertised locally and thinking it was not a bad price to haggle with the extra parts. Definitely will be some work but I rescued the one in my avatar from a junkyard and it is cool getting them back to the road. I'm just north of you and looking forward to seeing your progress.

    1956 354 Hemi..buy the car,get a hemi

Agree, that car is to nice to part out in my opinion and hopefully finds a restoration in it's future. There are groups restoring and still running some of those old dragsters for kicks and I noticed your question. NE56 designation would make it 9:1 and 280hp from the factory. a 3NE56...

    1956 354 Hemi..buy the car,get a hemi

Back in the day the old Chrysler hemi was common to front engine dragsters. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=354+chrysler+hemi+dragster&docid=608044605750838997&mid=C0435659537D83BD39A9C0435659537D83BD39A9&view=detail&FORM=VIRE

Some of my old Chargers through the years

I really enjoyed looking over these pictures. Very nice cars indeed. I had a Bronze 68 without the vinyl top that I purchased back in 1979 and always loved that car and body style. I also had a 67 charger at that time and a few other vehicles and had to let some go.

    Help!! What this Charger worth?

Yeh, what Kern said. Bad Karma taking advantage of widows, old folks or kids. That looks like an easy fix and being a 383 4spd car it would be worth the effort if the rust is as you described and the trim looks good as well. I would have no problems going $4k not running if that helped her out...

Anyone use there Gas Grill durning the Winter Months

I grill and use the smoker out on the shop porch all year. In the winter I hang the material they use for greenhouses up. My floor is heated so most winter days when I am working in the shop I leave the single door up on the shop and take my breaks out on the porch. I started putting the tarp...
