AMD 1973-74 Dodge Charger quarter panels available

I bought the passenger side a year ago. I removed my old one and clamped on the new one. Nice fit. I just had a problem at the deck filler, but my car had damage there so I’m sure that was the problem. I have a few things to do before I weld it on.

3rd gen in AMD test center

Thanks Gary! What years did he supply and test fit? I bought a full AMD quarter for my 74 Charger. So far, I've only test fit and have a couple areas to tweak. I don't think it's the part since my car was obviously hit in this area at some point.

3rd gen in AMD test center

The roof would make sense since it fits so many years. I wonder if the car belongs to a member here?

I wonder what this is about? A new part for the 3rd gen Charger!

    Steering column lock spring

I couldn't find the spring either. I can't believe they sell the collar and don't include a cheap part like the spring. Here is a link to someone that made one. It would be great if a member could make a bunch from an original. I'm sure they could sell a ton of them...

    K Frame Resto.

I wire wheeled and blasted mine and then sprayed it with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Satin Paint The paint was $50 plus shipping so $200 is a good price and much less work. Of course saving $150 here and there does add up.

1973 Plymouth RR torsion bar adjuster replacement

I searched everywhere and couldn't find correct 8" Ubolts for my 74. You can get the correct length at Mancini Racing or ESPO (Springs 'n Things) but they won't have the flattened top with the crosshatch. What length did you get? I'm curious if the 7 1/8" Ubolts would work. What axle housing do...

Rear speaker to defogger motor adapter for a '71-'74 B-body

Sorry I don't have a photo, but when my 74 was a daily driver in the 70's I mounted it to the right side trunk brace. It wasn't stock looking but was better than a frost shield in the winter. Remember frost shields? LOL

1973 Plymouth RR torsion bar adjuster replacement

Another case of a company selling parts that aren't right for a 1973 B body. PST, who is a sponsor here, is the only company that has the correct size. Their's fit 73-79 B body. I bought them for my 74 Charger and they fit. Part # TORADJ-C Specs Bolt - 9/16" bolt with 3/4" head with overall...

    72 Charger Steering column modification

Does it work without the spring? I emailed Tony's Parts and they replied it doesn't come with the spring. Seems like an easy part to reproduce and include with the collar.

Great information! Did the new collar come with the spring for the finger lever?

Package Tray & Sail Panel area

When I was reading yours, this link was at the bottom under similar threads. https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/74-charger-package-tray-and-pillar-panel-fitment.217800/ It makes sense to me to have the package tray on top. Why would they bother to finish the ends if they were...

    Speakers

I don't know why, but the driver's side is 5x7 and the passenger is 6x9. I think a lot of people just use 2 6x9's. There are websites that sell one of each size. I was just on Classic Industries and they sell one 5x7. Do a search and different sites will pop up. If you are going to a modern...

    74 charger UCA bar install

I have never seen them, except for NOS. 74 is one of those years that some vendors don't know much about. They think a lot of the parts fit all of the third gens, but of course they don't. Can you restore your original arms? You can't install the bar with both bushings in. If I remember right...

Upper threaded ball joint is too large

James, from PST, has been super helpful. He actually took the time to measure their ball joints at multiple spots. The PST ball joints are very close to the original. Much better than what I have. Thanks James!

Upper threaded ball joint is too large

The threads are definitely shallow, but I have read that NOS arms actually don't have threads and the ball joint cuts them. The service manual says to start the ball joint by hand if you are using the original control arm. So who knows. My upper control arm and original ball joint both have...
