So many choices. I used AM carbon fiber gauges and wanting to use the stock dash without the stock crinklelook I used a SE charger woodgrain cover and merely sanded the woodgrain off in prep for a carbon fiber overlay on my 70 Pro Touring Bird. Super easy and haven't seen it done before.
Credit to the guy ( I dunno who he was) who modified his cluster back with clever cutting and aluminum sheet backing. I went with his idea to do the same on my low tech piece. Since the lettering on the wiring is microscopic I used green tape with big numbers to make it a ez read.
Decided to forgo the pricey Year one repro harness and go with a Painless harness. Part reason using auto meter gauges. Painless.....not exactly. Painful? No but very time consuming! 100 hrs + and it still aint done.
Painless universal harness and like everybody says no instructions for mopar...
Good points. A good base 70 satellite is give or take 20 grand + with a ...318.
Then there's the ' time ' takes to find one, strip it, convert it etc etc..add 5 years+
Bird clones done are upwards of $60k now. My point - start with your own car in top shape.
10-30 years from now...if there's still gasoline to fuel our cars...big IF...and everything with 4 wheels hasnt gone electric or been banned, all those matching numbers really mean is in the whole scheme of things...not a helluva alot, maybe money in the bank for old age but thats about it..IMO.
