Here in PDX, I had my 63 SF vert painted by a guy who works part-time for a local MOPAR muscle car resto shop. A little over $8000, near show quality I think. Original style paint, no clear coat. Can't find the photos!
The USAF leather jacket came back in 89, I think. One Christmas season at Misawa AB northern Japan, the senior staff was called in to entertain some Congressmen and staffers on an "inspection tour of Korea". BS! Shopping at our expense. On of the t**t staffers said they had appropriated $5m for...
Confusing I agree. The float rises, and via a lever, pushes down on the pistons to shut off fuel flow. I think the pistons may be jammed. I will check again the orientaion of the baffle plates; i had them backwards originally, and the top would not mate with the bottom of the carb!
Thanks o ypu both. Yes I adjusted the floats to the Ed specs. I backed out the idle jets on the exterior to allow the pointed cut-offs that mate to the float, to drop down. Will try that again and if not, take off the top....ugh
I have changed out the wires and plugs, but cannot reach #3 with any tool. It seems the oil stick tube is in the way, plus maybe the new Lares box. Ideas please!
Beause of loss of power, I disassembled and put in all new gaskets, etc. I did find a lot of rubber debris on the tiny filter screen. Problem is, when i re installed it, fuel does not find its way to the float chambers. My pressure gauge is high, and when loosened, the fuel inlet squirts fuel...
unusual XB-70 photo, in that the vortex condensation only occurs in high humidity, and this is probably Edward AFB in the high desert. This bomber' design spec was 30min at Mach 3, performed in a giant triangle over the SW. The Soviet Mig 25, still a formidable, very high speed, high altitude...
0 i can top that...perversely.... When my Mother died suddenly age 60 from a ruptured brain aneurysm, my brother and I thought our Dad, a real car guy, needed a distraction, so I answered an ad on the b board at the O Club in RAF Lakenheath, UK where I was flying Super Sabres. It was a lhd...
Note the electric trolley bus. Environmentalism early. In reality, ETB were favored when iron-age streetcars expired, as the infrastructure was already in place - wires, substations, etc. - and no longer would the traction company pay for gas and electric repairs under the rails in the street...
Thanks!! standard fuel filter. I pulled it and blew through it and it seemed intact, or not blocked. The tank, sender, fuel pump are all new, but the hose may be original. I agree that the fuel filter is inadequate, tho' the debris might be from the line from the filter to the carb. I suspect...
I asked for help with this problem; my 63 400 4bbl ran fine, but now periodically slows down, idles roughly, then recovers. I was advised to rrebuild the carb, which I have done for the 2nd time. I think my original hypothesis of blocked fuel inlet in the tank, or line, may be correct. When...
