I am changing my fuel pump on my 68 charger to a in line electric pump. Can I mount the pump close to the current one or do I have to mount it by the tank?

I recently changed the filler tube gasket on my 68 charger gas tank. When I reinstalled the filler tube it had a old foam gasket between the body and the tube spout. Now I have a intermittent issue with fuel not flowing. Can the tank lose its prime??? Or just debris in the line/tank that’s...

Updated... I replaced all of the connectors with high quality battery terminals and tightened all of the ground connections. Thank you for the help!! ^^^Next question, should my fuel filter carry more fuel than this normally? Seems like it should ?

Also I noticed the amp gauge on the cluster is not working. Can this fuse together internally and cause a short?

I will check that. The cables are ok, just the connectors are melting?

Question, I just started my 68 Charger for the first time in about 2 week and the ground connector melted off of the battery? I fixed it and now the positive is melting! Any suggestions.

The pump works it just makes a loud squeak on acceleration and shut off. I changed the belt and added belt dressing with minimal result.

Can anyone recommend a new power steering pump?
