What wire would I need to connect to on the ignition switch when connecting gauge to power? Is there an alternative? Having difficulties accessing the switch.
Neither my temp or fuel gauge are working. If I wanted to bypass the instrument gauges and have a separate working temp gauge, how would one do that? Don’t need anything pretty, just functional so I know if I am overheating or not while driving.

Just had radiator recored and cleaned. Tested for leaks, all good. Reinstalled and noticed smoking from water pump area, what would the reason be? I only notice the smoke after car has been shut off and it is very subtle. What symptoms would show for a bad water pump?
Shut off vehicle on a decline, front of car down… went to start and would not start. 318 engine with 2bbl carter carb. Problem starting on unlevel ground?
What would be the first wire to check for the highlighted section in picture. Had car running jiggled group of wires that are highlighted and it shut off. Can’t get it to start now. Cranks but won’t fire up. Finally got a multimeter so hoping for a quick fix.

Would anyone know if these engine harnesses connect directly to bulkhead connector? Had engine running, jiggled wires circled in red on wiring diagram attached, to see if wiring was an issue for temp gauge. Then aoas car shut off and now won’t turn on. It’ll crank but never fire up. Been...
I have a gauge like the one below. What reason would there be if oil warning light and brake warning light works, along with alternator gauge, but the temp and fuel gauge don’t work. Turn signal indicator lights on gauge work as well. Just seems like temp and fuel are having a problem.

Is this a oil cooler? Disconnected lines and the smaller one seemed pressurized. It is separate from radiator but it looks like the oil that came out of that line was slightly red. the radiator has its own transmission cooler connectors. Related to A/C??

I would like to replace all the wiring under the hood. The issue I’m facing is where should I begin? I know battery cables first but all others? Is there any wiring harnesses out there already cut to length with connector ends terminated?
Going to be installing a fuel return line going into fuel sending unit coming from fuel filter by carb. Would this take away from the fuel going into the carb and send it back to the tank instead of the carb? Only using a mechanic fuel pump at the moment. Currently the fuel filter won’t stay...
