I run a progression distributor along with a MSD 6AL. I bRice it would do everything you are looking for. Very easy to install and work with. You don’t need the MSD box but I already had one installed.

I have cleared everything else out of the way. It is so close to seating all the way in but the ridge in the cylinder head is blocking it from dropping all the way in.
Hello, I am putting in a progression distributor and am having a clearance issue. In the picture enclosed I circled a ridge in the cylinder head causing the problem. Can I grind that down? Thank you for your help.
Update. I put NGK plugs in and custom made a MSD 90 boot to go on the plug. Problem is the header burned up the boot. Can in put an Accel shorty plug in the #5 & 6 cylinder? Or should I go through the trouble to notch the headers? Or try to find a smaller boot? The MSD boot is a bit large.
Pretty sure. I put my finger over the whole and turned it by hand over. Felt the air come out. I was able to get the car to run and idle. My advance looks to be running about 12-14*. But have some knocking going on. Especially when giving it some gas. I’m replacing all the spark plugs...
