Does the stud hold anything behind it? If I can remove the stud, is anything gonna fall inside the transmission? I might be able to use a reverse drill bit and back the broken stud out, make a new one from a grade 8 bolt and re-use the nut.
Maybe I'll just leave it. The car drove and shifted fine.

Removed the door panel, interior door handle and linkage rod and got the glass off the regulator but that small track attached to the glass will not come off. And I don't think it will come out attached to the glass. Looks like it is a plastic fastener. What's the secret step I'm missing? Thanks...

1977 440. The oil pan looks like its for a truck motor, maybe a D500, D800 or a motorhome. It needs rebuilding so I'll tear it down and take it in to the machine shop to see what kind of shape the block and crank are in first.
