I agree on what would amount to a lowball bid for a dealer. If the consignee were selling privately, I bet I'd have a shot in my price range. I am still finding cars in similar condition, in the 15-20K range. They are just fewer and farther between, and most are not local.

I'd be more comfortable at 18. That's NOT gonna happen. For comparison- This is somewhat local to me. Kind of an oddball, convertible with a 273 three speed manual. LOTS of potential if you don't mind deviating from oddball stock. 4 speed floor shift (and nice, day 2 wheels) would totally...

I generally do pretty well when it comes to getting good deals on cars. I've never paid "retail" for any car. There are some negotiating points, but I still doubt that'd take less then 25. Look at the OEM head pipes just shoved into the new duals-

For a 318 car? It IS really nice, from the pics.

Petty 1971 mule Road Runner test at Daytona, November 1970

Note the "flare" of the rocker panel in front of the rear wheel.

Yeah, I did too. I hung a red bandana (and maybe a thing with red feathers) from the mirror and the R/W/B really popped and seemed very "American" to me.

My source says top dollar #1 condition 31K and 19.5 for #2. They are asking 27. If I thought they'd take anywhere near 20, I'd be on a plane.

    "The 383 was a bored out 361"?

I think the BB development theory stated earlier in the thread was correct- 400/451/470 ...and "ball stud" Hemi in various displacements.

This is as close as I've found to my high school car/ first Mopar. White with blue- check. AC and PW- check. 318- check. Original paint, right side mirror, dual exhaust, PB, and chrome Magnum 500's for a kicker. Mine was a 66 440, but this is literally as close as I've found, and I've been...

    So confused….

Main issue was the bottom blue self adjuster spring not in the right hole. That will cause the adjuster to not work right and may affect the application of the shoe.

Sorry, don't like it. What's the point? Lots of talk that it's AI "smoothed over". Again. What's the point?

    "The 383 was a bored out 361"?

Couple issues with that article- Sure looks like a poly A engine to me. and This paragraph makes no sense- Making the 413 caused an odd problem for Chrysler: their Trenton assembly plant had one line devoted to the B-series V8s, and another was set up for the RB. To move from making the...

    Who Likes Scale Models ?

Hmm, I thought Daisy's Jeep was a CJ-7. Is the licensed kit wrong? Model above is a CJ-5. Nice work, though.

Where did you and your car go today

Ugh. I got to do that on mine... ...eventually. Not super motivated to pull the trans. Got the seal in the glove box. Been there for almost 10 years.

Chrysler did several engines that were "same stroke, different bore" as other engines.

Swapping old seat skins... for other old skins??

What upholstery is 500 bucks? Legendary was that price 10 years ago. PUI doesn't have the correct pattern and also no "buttons" last time I checked.
