Carb selection can be tricky. I have tried many combo's on my car and I found that flow testings tells the real story. The last 850DP I built for a customer flowed 930CFM on the flow bench. Based on all the information you have noted, I would run a 850 Holley HP Ultra. You get better tuning with...
Not sure I would class his motor as "mild". The cam choice is a bit light for the cylinder head choice, but it should still pull great. My vote is 750 Holley/Quickfuel style carb.
Good Luck Bro!
I have sold a few AED 750 carb to guys with your similar set-up and they rock! My 383 is a little more aggressive and I use an AED 850. I haven't had the best of luck with Eddy carbs............
I have tried almost every intake know to man and I still keep going back to the old TM6 Edelbrock (on my 383). I tried the Eddy Victor and my car slowed almost 2 tenths at the track. Spent hours trying to tune and make the numbers back up, sold the intake and the antique went back on. I run the...
One pair of big block Mopar 906 cylinder heads. These are bolt one and ready to go! Stainless Manley Valves, Comp Cams Valves Springs good for .550 lift, Hardened Retainers, 10deg locks. They have been decked, freshly ground seats, guides cut for high lift cam and dual rate springs. New Viton...
Be careful with the "vacuum port on the metering block". When carbs are meant to be used on a blower application that port is used to signal the power valve using manifold vacuum under the blower. I would recommend you run a line from that port to your intake or carb spacer to insure your power...
I agree with the comparison from Stealth to Eddy E-Streets. If you are looking for a great replacement head, the E-Streets are a great choice. I have a few buddies that both had issues with 440 Source products (heads included). I was only stating the information the guy from Mancini's explained...
I talked to the guys at Mancini Racing about the E-Street heads and they explained they are more of an entry level head. It does not offer the performance level of the RPM or Victor series head. I did consider them for my motor, but Im sticking with my first choice of RPM's. For flow data on...
Any carb will "dry-out" and leak....not just a Holley. Edelbrock carbs work ok, but they are not a performance carb by any stretch. I have a 750 Barry Grant Silver Claw for sale for $275. Fulley rebuilt and wet tested. I can re-jet for your needs.
