Hope I am not boring anybody, this link is overall interesting, but it is the last item in the link, an air raid siren that is most noteworthy.
Not mentioned is the entire unit rotated 360 Degrees when in use for better coverage.
I saw my first one in the 70's sitting atop the roof of the Miami...
I have never heard or read about any air shock punching thru. Not say it can't happen, but I suspect it is very rare. The air shocks do not "support" the weight of the rear of the car. They do I admit support a percentage, I doubt it ever exceeds 500lbs for the pair if we are not talking trailer...
Actually, I suppose one could also simply install a shut off valve (to block) or a three way valve (to block & bleed) that is in the line that controls each shock, and that would allow one to bleed off one side, or over pressure one side, whichever the driver feels is needed, and continue to use...
I remember a round we had, rain was approaching, and I took a quick water break at the turn. The group in front made a full stop, and we wasted no time headed to the tee box. The group in front had teed off and a we soon followed them, but before we drove away the group who had stopped and we...
Was lucky enough to see Bruce win the first US F1 race at Sebring 1959.
SVG is amazing and truly in a class of his own. That was clearly discovered in his first Chicago win in the rain, and he has only backed that up thereafter. I am not sure how much clout NASCAR has, but I hope they don't out...
No golfer I know is willing to lose two strokes min (1 stroke and 1 penalty) to strike any car for any reason that is under 16' long when they have a hard enough time just landing on a green that is what, 50'? wide.
This might be related and a bit over the top:
"If you know there is a...
Thought this was an interesting quick read:
MSN
I have always been very fond of the wheel/look. I was lucky enough I believe in the 60's there were only two? Goodyear Racing Tire shops/distributors in the country.
One being in Ft Lauderdale on Federal Hwy. When I got the Polara 500 at age 16, I...
Yes, in that helps resist hot spots internally that boil the water reducing heat transfer if the cap maintains pressure properly. Not sure it that was a problem that a new cap corrected.
IMO a three independent zone system would be ideal. However, in a crash/emergency that might overcomplicate matters, therefore I'm installing a dual zone, engine zone and a driver and fuel cell zone. Thinking an engine fire is easy relatively to spot, the driver in most cases will be the one...
Charlie, that is a rather goofy IMO link:
"The Castrol brake fluid also has a high viscosity, which means it won’t compress under pressure."
Not sure that claim is accurate regarding viscosity.
It also claims water and soap is alternative emergency alternative for BF, I guess so is urine?
"1b. If a car runs hot with a 180/195, and lets say the cooling system is all correct and working (including pump, fan, shroud, how much the fan sticks out of the shroud), wouldn't a 160 cool the engine off some more?
IMO the engine will at some point reach a thermo equilibrium. Any temp rated...
