I was able to get everything in. Had to customize motor mounts & transmission mounts. No matter what I could come up with the stock column shift will not work. Floor shifter it's going to be. The throw difference between the column and the linkage on the transmission are way too different.
Have you checked the two oil pan bolts on either side directly below where the timing chain cover seats to the engine? I'm noticing on my rebuilt 440 that the bolts do not seem long enough and oil is seeping at the top and looks like it is coming from the timing cover. I think the bolt should...

Currently converting my 65 Plymouth Belvedere with a 318 and automatic transmission to a 1970 440 with a 727 transmission. Wondering if there is any shift linkage conversion kits or if it is just easier to do a floor shifter? Anybody else run into this?
Currently converting my 65 Plymouth Belvedere with the poly 318 and automatic transmission to a 70 440 and 727 transmission. Is there any linkage conversion kits or is it easier to just do floor shifters?
Currently converting my 65 Plymouth Belvedere with a poly 318 and automatic transmission to a 1970 440 and 727 transmission. Does anyone know of any linkage conversion kits so I can keep calling shift? Or is it just much easier to do a floor shifter?
