Ordered a parts 1405 for $50, read that model doesn't have the restricted secondary booster and is compatible with my 1407. Sure enough it fits, driving around it no longer is lean at WOT in fact its super rich which is what I would expect with the jetting I have in there now. Anyways I hope...
I wish I had valued my time and spent more money but when I was buying parts this seemed like a deal, spent $125 for the carb and got this jet/metering rod kit for $15, has worked well so far - the kit not the carb. What other Eddy have you had better experience with?
Update:
I finally got the fuel pressure sensor in and did some WOT testing, seems like the pump is keeping up but i still see the A/F ratio creeping up toward 15 near 5k RPM. I'm thinking its in the carb now
Is this the bullet nose booster your talking about? How do I enlarge? I want to be...
O2 sensor just behind collector and it looks good. Just pulled a spark plug to sanity check as well. I'm not great at reading these but this doesn't look super rich to me
Been banging my head on this for awhile now, I have a mild 440 with secondary metering jets 3 stages rich (.116" jet) and still reading high 14s AFR at WOT. Cruise reads around 13.7 and Power Mode is upper 12's, the calibration is below. I'm not sure where to go from here as there is no Richer...
They're def within 1/16" (.0625") but there's too much movement and no great reference to measure from so I can't confidently be any more precise than that. Everything up tops alum too so my magnetic base is useless...
Took this picture recently, piston 4 intake lifter is on the left here on its way up. I think I can see the retainer but I'm not sure. What do you think?
NOTE: Mocha latte oil is from when the drivers side head gasket went and is the reason I was in there.
Forgot to mention this, yes I did measure the adjustment screw, it's the same. I did not measure the top of the valve, do I need to get to shaft off again to measure this or is it enough to get it back on base circle and compare to another closed valve?
What could make a lifter taller?
Going through valve lash adjustment using exhaust opening intake closing method (EOIC) comp cams recommends about .045" preload and I noticed #4 intake is significantly higher (adjustment screw almost 1.5 turns out further) than the rest. I double checked it a couple of times because I know the...
Replacing the headliner in my '67 Coronet Sedan and I noticed the hooks around the rear window have this trim that slips over them, I can't find replacement online anywhere anyone else have this? Is it on 4 doors only?
Ill post a pic shortly.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I guess I didn't look...
Shoot the 1009s I just got hang over into the cylinder, I don't understand why motors only .030" over so that puts me at 4.350 and the 1009s are supposedly 4.410...
Ordering the 8519PT for now I guess, seems like others have had luck with them.
Sorry the previous picture was after some cleaning. This pic is immediately after I pulled the head. The block was milled and I did put my straight edge on the block but I could only get one angle foe measurement, again .002" gauge couldn't get under anywhere. Preignition is possible as I was...
Spun motor no coolant came out of spark plug holes, probably because I had to start it again to move for the tow truck driver. I also put my torque wrench on 5 of the bolts before I took off the head and they were tight, I'm wishing I checked them all now...
I don't see any cracks in the...
The valley pan gasket was new when I installed it but I didn't paint it, I got a new one and I'm painting it this time. Made the same mistake with the oil pan, did I mention this is my first build
Ok added some pictures, the fire rings on the gaskets were way out of round on the drivers side, imporperly torqued maybe, I checked a couple of the head bolts with the torque wrench before I pulled the heads and they were fine but now I wished I checked them all...
Also put a machinist straight...
Thanks for all the replies very helpful, I've been using this forum as my go to for all my issues during the build over the past 2 years but this one I couldn't find quite what I needed just searching around
Ok so I think my current plan for tonight is this:
1. Try to locate leak using a...
