T2R9, I think I missed that one, thank you. Any chance you could post a link?
3White - That's a tough Q. I'll take all the help I can get, thanks a lot. I would prefer one that is drivable, let's put it that way. Doesn't have to be perfect, but if there is no rust, the frame and...
DeltaV,
Thanks. I would prefer a turn key driver Bee or a somewhat near complete project. The big thing for me is the body and undercarriage. I'm not a body guy. The undercarriage doesn't have to be perfect, just nice, drivable, something that doesn't require a ton of effort, and something...
I just did that. Thank you! If anyone has experience with BaT, I'd welcome your input. I would think messaging the seller with questions, etc. should be pretty straight forward.
Yea... there is. Best get out the kleenex. So I've always been into Mopars, especially the B bodies. But the '69 Bee was my dad's favorite. He started a business back in the early 80s that, over the next decade or so, became very successful and he was able to buy one of his 2 dream cars...
Thanks, Hudson. So... if one wanted to swap a 383 to a 440 they would just need the correct air cleaner base, no?
Also, if one wanted to swap intake manifolds on either engine, they would need to make sure that manifold sits at the same level or lower (to make up with a spacer??), using the...
DeltaV - thank you for pointing that out. I didn't catch that nor knew what it meant.
icetech - great advices, as others have mentioned, thanks.
As for using Lemon Squad, they seem to get a favorable rep from what I have learned. My first choice would be to fly out, bring the wife unit...
Bill,
Same here. I dealt with a nice guy but too many unknowns, I'm thinking. If I had a guarantee there was no rust on the 1/4 panels and he actually had paperwork of what was done, it might be a different story. We'll see how it goes.
At any rate, there are 2 others I'm looking at that...
Hey all,
What's the difference between the RC air intake systems between a 383 and 440 B body car? Is it just the air cleaner height so it can seal up into the hood?
Thanks,
Mikey
Wow.. Just.. wow. Thanks everyone. I figured it would need some work and, if I were to move forward, would certainly ask far less than they're asking simply based on the rust and lower radiator, body stuff that I see. But I didn't catch the backwards bee thing so thanks for that. Since I'm...
Hey all,
Greetings from NorCal again. First off, a big thank you to all of you who have guided me and provided input this far in my search for a Super Bee. So after reading a bunch here and looking at 3 Bees and coming down to really 2, this is the one that is in the lead at the moment. I...
Thanks for the replies. Geoff, didn't know that... thank you.
Eldubb, the pic of the trunk interior looks super clean so not sure if the car was sitting for a while. It's at a dealer in Indiana and I'm nor NorCal so I have to work with the sales person for more pics, etc. Although, the...
Thanks Pnora. If it does turn out to be rust, do you think it's something I should be overly concerned about? The rest of the undercarriage looks to be a 8 / 8.5 out of 10 - very minimal surface rust, clean, rubber bushing seem to be new or in very good shape. The body and doors look very...
Hey all,
Good morning. In the search for our Super Bee I came across one contender that looks really nice however I have one area of concern. The undercarriage of the care looks pretty good, except for the pinch seam along the bottom of the rockers. I can't tell if this is rust or if it's...
