Can you post a picture of the pitman arm bolted to the new steering box? I've read/heard/seen on other forums about the pitman arm not being able to bolt up far enough on the splines . Almost like the splines were not cut up far enough. This only seems to apply to the large sector, the small...
How was the fit of the pitman arm on the new box? On another forum some were having issues . The arm wouldn't go up far enough on the splines. Only with the big sector shaft, small one seems ok? Which are you using?

Yep, correct it's a lip stamped in the LCA. I never had to remove mine as I used poly bushings . Various ways to remove the shell, press it out or chisel and hammer to collapse it then pull it out etc...

I see what your referring too, it's not a second sleeve but part of the LCA stamping . Turn the adjuster arm and the inside sleeve ( as your referring too) will move, and the outer sleeve ( as you call it) will not move as it's part of the stamping.
I'm very happy with how the car handles now, 110% better than it was. My family Chev Suburban handled better than the Challenger before I started the mods.

I bought a 55 Belair out of Cullman Alabama. When I tore it down I found a 45ACP round that had been fired( rifling on the bullet) and it had hit something soft? Made me go Hummmm? seeing how the headliner and rear seat didn't match the rest of the car?:eek:
