Another interesting project, 318 magnum engine, 518 od trans, 3.73 posi rear.
All modern electrics work including cruise control.
Big torsion bars and sway bars, welded 2x2 subframe connectors.
Now comes the fun part, fitting 2 44mm turbos.
Wow what a ride that mustev been:icon_eyes:
Glad thats all that happened
Ill start beating the bushes for a fender hope somebody is hiding one under a pair of polara doors for my car haha
I like watching the show but feel that it sends the wrong message about street racing!
Being 90 mlies from the closest track theres already a serious street racing problem here on Long Island (me being one of the perpatrators :head_smack:)
Its just another reason for cops to break the balls of...
Wow thats odd! But i guess its just like any other new part for a 50yr old car.
If theres no positive stop to make sure the impeller is at the correct depth its up to the guy workin the press!
Guess he stayed too late at the bar last night Haha.
Well the dodge never made it there! The little \6 gave up on I81 just 7 miles from carlisle. Some luck i have haha.
The part that pissed me off the most was having to buy another 6 cuz i dont have enough money to finish the 512 thats supposed to go in the car.
At least its back on the road now...
The low/reverse band is what i would point the finger at.
Had this problem on a few trannys and every time thats what was wrong
Sometimes just needed adjustment, one time found the drum and band were metal on metal completly wiped out
That velcro idea sounds good, or maby some double sided tape on the floor stick bolth sides of the carpet to it!
Thats all I got for carpet im not a fan, Plan to rhino liner on my floor!
Just found that Hughes Performance makes a few high stall converters for the 47RH/RE.
Looks like thats the answer to my question.
Now its time to get to work on the trans itself!
Not sure what family the 361 falls in, but 904s had two different housings to fit LA or \6 engines.
727s were the same with a case for B engines and another for LA.
You can tell the differance by the shape of the transmission pan!
904 is almost a perfect rectangle
727 has one corner cut off
A&A transmissions sells a conversion cable that allows push button to work a 66-up trans!
http://www.aandatrans.com/Products/Push-Button-Conversion-Cable-Set-for-1966-Up-Torqueflite-in-a-1962-65-Vehicle__AACCP.aspx
Ok well now I guess its time for me to hunt down a converter.
I could see this swap is going to require a lot of work just adapting everything around the trans.
Just want to make sure it can actually work before I start spending any money!
The same thing happened to me just after I bought my 64!
Took apart the carb apart for a "roadside rebuild" and found a dead roach stuck in the jet what are the odds of that!
Well at least you got a deal on the car and its home now.
Too bad you couldnt enjoy a nice drive back.
Good luck with it.
