TDC and +\- number of degrees

Apparently I'm going to need a refresher on setting the timing all. I just woke up and nothing is making the amount of sense it should be, and it's been a LONG time since I messed with the timing. Please help! Lol - - - Updated - - - I just hope I'm not told I have to take of the timing cover...

TDC and +\- number of degrees

Yes I am talking about timing, sorry. And where I have it set at zero on the timing cover (I've forgotten how change the damn timing for the moment, let alone get the numbers to where you have suggested lol) could that cause stalling at start up? And only let it idle for a moment or two? I'll...

    Oil leak

There is a adapter plate that attaches to the block with a thin gasket between that and the block, and the oil filter attaches to that. It's sandwiched between the filter and the block. And I'm sure it's coming from that area only because I happened to be standing right there at the moment it...

    Oil leak

I recently found an oil leak around either the filter and plate, or the plate and block. Gasket seems to be fine and the plate seems to be on correctly. Wondering if this might be caused by too much oil pressure, and if anyone else has had this problem.

TDC and +\- number of degrees

Hello again all, question about the number of degrees I should have my 318 stroker set at. Currently it's at 0 however I'm wondering if it should be above or below that mark. Thanks in advance.

    Fuel vapor separator..is it nessecary?

I think a more prudent thing to ask at this point is whether or not it's a better idea to have some kind of vent routed outside of harms way rather than hooking up the separator which just runs in the engine compartment without a canister

    Fuel vapor separator..is it nessecary?

Picked up an inline fuel filter and some tubing earlier, going to make a vent to sit above the tank near the rear of the car if I can't get the separator working. Going to do some more research on the subject first. Hope to hear more opinions on this subject though. Thanks again all.

    speedo cable

I agree, I hooked up mine by lining up the cable tip with the hole while pressing the lever and sliding on. There isn't much room though so if possible you may want to remove the cluster.

    Fuel vapor separator..is it nessecary?

I have a vented fuel cap, is that enough to make sure vapor lock doesn't occur? If not what can I do? Anybody have a diagram by chance? - - - Updated - - - Can I just run a small hose to a point above the tank with either a filter or relief valve on it?

    Fuel vapor separator..is it nessecary?

It's a 73 rr clone (satellite) with a 318 bored and stroked. I have a Holley blue electric fuel pump I'm getting ready to put on and I want to make sure the fuel system is good to go. I don't have the canister that goes with it but I have a separator off of a dodge polara that I can use if need be.

    Fuel vapor separator..is it nessecary?

Heard mixed answers on this, but is the fuel vapor separator nessecary? Or can you just plug the 4 ports on the tank and be good to go? Interested to see the replies, thx in advance.

    Throttle/kickdown linkage adjustment help

Thank you for the detailed reply and the pics, makes perfect sense now. I was confused why the manual had the spring where it did (that's why I placed where it is, I had it in the correct position before) will see how it operates now. Thx again and your setup is looking real nice btw!

    Throttle/kickdown linkage adjustment help

But the throttle lever on the tranny is spring loaded n set to move under pressure in the forwards position. That's why the manual says to hold the lever forward while adjusting the rod that connects to it. So I'm now more confused then when I started at this point. I understand what u are...

    Throttle/kickdown linkage adjustment help

It will barely reach the pin the cable is on though. I had it like that when I had my Holley dp on n it seemed all wrong. What I'm most curious about at this point is whether I need to secure it in a certain position or whether it is free to slide back and forth like it appears to do in the pic...

    Throttle/kickdown linkage adjustment help

Hey all, been awhile since I posted. However recently had a chance to start working on my 73 rr clone again and I'm running into issues with the throttle rod adjustment. I have a 318 bored .60 over n stroked and it has a one-piece throttle rod. I need to know if the slotted section that connects...
