408 feels real strong, a little more rev happy than the 440.
I am bracing the lCA's leaving the uppers stock with the offset moog bushings, not interested in altering the car with aftermarket K members, 4 links, or coil over conversions, I want to make the car as fun as I can while keeping it...
Gentlemen,
I am in the process of trying to upgrade my 67 Coronet from Street/Strip to a weekend fun toy that can go around a corner or two without dragging the door handles.
So far swapped the big block for an aluminum headed 408 small block, bought 1.03 torsion bars, adjustable strut rods...
Seems to be the majority opinion here is to buy the Edelbrocks that are for the 68-71 high compress 340 that also stuck proud from the deck? According to the catalog they have .60 recess for the dome/quench pad anyone have any experience with them?
Gentlemen,
I am going to try to give you the readers digest version of my situation.
I bought a 408 stroker short block that due to my own error I did not catch the fact that this short block must be used with open chamber heads.
Shortly after taking delivery of the short block I have to...
Gentlemen,
I am building a mild 360 4bbl in my 78 Magnum, The short block is the stock low compression 360 2bbl that Ma Mopar made millions of.
Now I am in the process of installing a Comp Cams XE268H complete kit as well as an airgap intake and street demon 625 4bbl carb.
The lean burn...
Been working on my new to me 78 Magnum, but today I took the time to fire up the coronet and get her ready for a little cruise and some bracket racing. Thought you might want to hear her fire for the first time this year.
Gentlemen thank you for the replies it was a combination of a intake gasket leak and a plugged idle circuit on the carb.
Since the intake had to come off I am replacing the intake and the 2bbl and going with an Air Gap manifold and street demon carb. I will update after the install.
Eagleone,
First thank you for your service, chasing a leak with a propane torch is pretty simple. First you put on a smaller tip on the torch like a brazing tip, then attach a length of vacuum hose to the tip about 2 feet is fine. Second start the car and crack the torch valve open and use the...
Greetings and thanks for taking the time to read this,
I purchased a 1978 Dodge Magnum, 360 2bbl W/Auto trans (904) the lean burn system has been removed and a knock off of the Mopar Performance Electronic ignition made by proform was installed in its place.
As I do with any car I buy...
So I purchased a new to me 78 Magnum http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/forumdisplay.php?27-1975-1979-Mopars
Like all cars I buy used I am going through it a fixing everything that needs fixing and doing maintenance that I am not sure when the last time it was done. So far everything...
The seats were recovered by the previous owner the car originally was white exterior red interior with a 60/40 split bench, the P.O. added buckets and the console and the seats front and back recovered in black vinyl.
So after searching for awhile for a Magnum, I found one that has good bones and was only 3 hours south of me to boot.
She has good bones, obviously there are a few things I want to change but I think she is a great start.
My goal is a reliable daily driver and the big motor is going back...
Gentlemen,
Could you tell me if the are suppose to be support bow for the headliner on a 67 Coronet? as the car sit now there is nothing bare metal.
I don't know if is supposed to be smooth like over a cardboard style backing or use bows.
Thank you for your time.
The heads will be getting bigger valves and full port and bowl work, they are aftermarket RHS LA-X heads. I know that there are better heads out there but I got the ones I have for next to nothing in a horse trade. I have not heard anything but positive reviews on the edelbrock performer rpm air...
Car runs out and drives fine, I always had planned on a stroker kit now I guess I have excuse to do sooner than later.
Engine would probably run forever the way it is but call me paranoid but knowing that something is broke bothers me.
