I think a well thought out NOS setup will cost you the same as any other power adder.
Sure you could buy a $600 dollar base kit and be disappointed with the performance.
But a well thought out kit will take both time, money and research.
You are not going to bolt on a kit and put 250 hp...
I don't run HUGHS rocker shafts.
What I am running are Indy SR heads and they have .050 restrictors on the oil lines going to the heads.
I had to go to .020 restrictors because I was getting to much oil to the head and emptying the oil pan.
7200 rpm limiter pill on the engine.
Just remember when building HP you have to build around the total HP.
That being said, 12 to 1 is Ok.
Do all the research on NOS.
It only takes 1 mistake to do damage to your engine.
The reason to use a purge is you want to have liquid going to the plate.
Just the time between rounds the nos will go to a gas-vapor in the line.
So when you hit the nos you will have a lag where your system will be rich up to 3 seconds depending how much of the nos in the lines turns to a...
I use to take 3 cars to the strip weekly
Built my place 3 miles from Woodburn drag strip.

I run Evans collant.
Boils over at 300 degree's freezes at -70 below.
You use a 4 lb radiator cap.
We use them in all of are semi's.
We use 210 degree thermostats.
Evans says you should get .005 to .10 mpg increase.
That's why we changed.
If you want to have a good starting point for shifting and don't want to use the string trick that works,
Take your car to a chassis dyno and do a all gear dyno run.
Look at your results and go from there.
Not wanting to argue here.
But I'm not buying the 727 vs 400 being a stronger transmission.
What I will say is you MUST have the right part for the build you are building and the part is going in.
600 plus pass's with my race car.
500 pass's with the tire's in the air.
If the tire's weren't in...
This is kinda like the 3 bears story.
First pass of the year after some mods I had a 3000 rpm launch chip in and bogged off the line and the car ran terrible.
next pass the one in the video,3900 launch chip on the bumper for 250 ft.
next pass 3600 rpm chip, car lifted 18 inch's in the air.
That...
