No joke I ran 2" of spacers on top of a torker intake on a mild 383. The more spacer I put on it the faster it went at the track. I should have tried 3"! One of those things you wouldn't think would work on paper but it liked it

You'll see 18hp for headers, another 12 for carb, another 40 for intake, and then another 49 for big cam.
Their m1 single plane is the wrong choice here of course along with the cam.
It would have been interesting to run the...
The old resto to rad articles on 383 and 440 showed power added at each step.
That 1966 afb is going to be the literal bottleneck however. I wouldn't pay big money for any non oem intake with that carb unless it's been worked by a stock class racer.
Tanks Inc local to my hometown.
I wouldn't trust a weld and keeping that area flat to hold a seal. You'll just keep chasing it.
When I replaced the sender in my charger and then filled it it dripped pretty good. I fought the lock ring for an hour. Luckily I didn't split the tank like that
I would have thought 1 jet size would be enough but I'd play with 2-3 just to see. Your wb is a great asset. Richen the idle a bit, just to see what happens. If nothing happens go back to timing and spark, retard it 2* then and see what happens. Sounds like either a lean surge or still...
Fwiw I've been running the same walbro 255 pump on the frame rail in front of the leaf spring. Efi since 2009, turbocharged since 2012.
You have to prime it with the hump up in the line but once you do since it is lower than the tank it's fine. Stock tank. Stock pickup. No sock. 100...
at only 5-8psi I wouldn't think meth would be needed. Water is helpful. I run water on my turbocharged 383 with EFI and no intercooler. My tune is safe either way, but the water drops the air inlet temps 40* and it just makes more power that way. Technically I'm sure I could run some more...
