I purchased a wood grain panel insert for above the glove box area, but it's warped. Is there any way to straighten this out or have tips you can share? Maybe it will just straighten out when it's bolted to the dash?
Thanks
Finally got the covers off & painted black on the engine bay side. They look much better.
For what it's worth, they were undercoated underneath, so I left that side alone.
With the responses posted ^^^ I think I'll paint them black. Thanks also to idrive for mentioning the screws being black too. I forgot to ask about those :eusa_doh:
What color are the inspection covers for the upper control arms supposed to be in the engine bay on a 73 RR ?
Body color, black or natural
I looked thru this forum, but couldn't find the answer.
The blue engine paint is a good idea too. I think I'll try what I have here first. If it turns out crappy, I'll try your paint idea.
Masking those little knobs for paint is gonna be difficult I think?
The color does mimic petty blue. I bought a 2oz bottle at Michael's (art supply store) for less than $2
It's called Americana Gloss Enamel and the color is Calypso Blue. The paint is made for glass and ceramics so it should wear pretty good.
Now I need to figure out how to paint the knobs...
Thanks guys. As far as durability goes, I don't think the painted area really gets handled much since it's in the middle of the knob, so it should be okay.
I can post info on the paint if anyone is interested.
I've been working on my rallye cluster and found this blue paint at a hobby store. I thought I'd try it on an old broken headlight knob. The knob is pretty faded, so not sure how it looked originally.
Does anyone know if this color looks close ?
Just did this repair a couple of months ago. It was not much fun but got er done. Removed both linkage arms and the drivers side pivot only. Used a bolt that fit snug in the bushing with a nut for spacing. Used a vise to press together. Only screwed up one bushing when doing the press work at...
Thanks for all the great replies. I asked the seller about the hood pins he/she is selling. I think I'll order a set based on the reply received.
23" from center to center of the eyelets
Lanyards are plastic coated
Is there a simple way to test this or know whether it's the switch or the relay?
Just got my wipers working yesterday with new bushings. What a pain they were to access in the cowl. They don't go to PARK by themselves without a nudge.
Thanks for your reply Chris. I found those and wasn't sure because of the price.
My hood pins have ugly worn lanyards, so I poked around on ebay. I thought the real ones were more expensive.
Can anyone tell me if these hood pins are correct for our cars? The price is so cheap, that I'm skeptical of the quality.
Thanks for the help.
