I think they gave up because the thread turned to **** and got taken over by a Charger zealot who maybe needs to get out more.
Honestly, this was posted in the 71-74 section for a discussion amongst those guys and somehow got invaded.
The '71 cars have grown on me. Not sure what they are like to drive but at higher speeds they should be a lot more aerodynamic.

Surely a lot depends on the tires?
My 2 barrel 318 Barracuda used to light up the tires. They were 195 wide re-treads I think. It was like the Charger in Bullitt going up the hill on every drive.
Once I put on decent rubber I had no chance.
It just holds the front bumper on. Support the bumper and take the other one out and take it with you to the hardware store (the bolt at the rear of your yellow arrow).
I agree with this 100%. My own car looks great in the photos I take, and it's ok in real life....but not a show car by any stretch.
Unless you're looking at it in person, in daylight, you're taking a chance.
If your that worried sell the car and buy something new.
I've had 2 low speed (under 5 mph) collisions in 2 different cars from that era. 66 Satellite front corner into steel stud/drywall, and rear ended in my 71 Ford Falcon.
I felt both right through my body. I've been in a few in new cars and...
Could you carefully trim the opening to make it slightly larger? I always to try to modify/make parts myself first before buying. If it turns out a mess then you could buy the new top plate anyway.
Mate, it was meant tongue-in-cheek. I like what you've done, but if you start adding another pedal to replicate a clutch that isn't there...it's getting a bit too much. However, it is your car, and you are free to do whatever you please.
I changed the oil on my Subaru WRX STI last weekend. It's got a real pain in the *** plastic undertray which is a bitch to remove with a combination of plastic clips and bolts. There are access hatches for the drain plug and filter but I always like to remove the tray altogether to give...
This thread is unbelievable! First the OP was basically called a liar, which upset him so much he actually started another thread just to say he wasn't...and then hasn't been seen since, and then it turns into a "show me your missus working on your car" (which was rather cool)....but then turned...
Robert, if you know what happened be happy with that and just let it lie.
You'll never get everyone to agree with you, so why keep punishing yourself?
If you find yourself in a situation like in your other thread on this subject, it's better to ignore the thread and move on as you'll never win...
Ok champ. We're all identical and I'm lying to look like some sort of weight-sensing hero on the internet. Don't know why I bother sometimes. Over and out.
I could definitely feel the difference driving on twisting country roads in the UK. Maybe you wouldn't notice so much in stoplight to stoplight driving in the US though. I've also felt a difference going the other way with my Satellite - changing from a Weiand 7503 aluminium intake to a factory...
Well I had GREAT results with an Edlebrock Performer/600 Holley and headers on a '69 Barracuda 318. The weight savings are not all about straight line speed anyway. That weight is way up high in the engine bay, so by reducing it you're improving your centre of gravity, so better cornering. Also...
