I don’t see how it would render it useless since when you power it up it starts working. It totally prevents shifts to reverse if you miss 5th but I would love to try this reverse restrictor just to see how good it works.

No but I would buy some type of closed cell foam insulation, something like this and put it down to help cut down on the heat on those hot summer days. I put it all of my sound deadener.

That stuff has gotten really expensive. I opted you use the Amazon Basics stick on mat 14.4”x10”. It measured around 70-80 mil with my gauge but I also backed all of it with Noico 150 mil closed cell foam, that is currently unavailable at Amazon.
