I use Joe Gibbs Racing break in oil, buy it by the case. Works good.

I have a 72 413 sitting on a stand in my shop, pretty bad condition but I have it and got it for free. The heads are not real usable as the have water ports in the front of the head (at least mine did) but the block is worth something and they make good candidates for strokers.

The learning curve is dependent on your willingness to actually learn it, it is not that hard especially with the internet and a wide variety of books out there as well as your computer skills. Yes, it does take some learning but what you get back is worth every second especially if your are...

That is very true but there is a market for them. I built a 330 Desoto and there is very little parts for those along with most of the other G1 Hemi's, however the 392 has a much larger aftermarket in comparison.

If it is truly a 392 its worth quite a bit more than $500. The 392 and the 354 are popular with the street rod and crackle fest crowds. There is a bunch of G1 hemi's since Chrysler, Dodge and Desoto all made versions, but the 354 and 392 are best of the breed so to speak. Do your research before...
