I recently purchased a Lokar throttle cable. I have a 4 speed so I don't need to deal with kick down.
I understand this is a pretty popular replacement.
How are people dealing with the square hole in the firewall? Are you drilling a new hole and filling it or using fender washers?
Any pics...
I made the mistake of buying a running and driving vehicle as the donor. I have learned the cheapest was is a mish-mash of parts. In retrospect, I would have bought a low mileage engine and sourced the rest at pick and pull yards.
I am trying to find the dog bone shifter mounting plate. The one in this picture looks like it does not have much of a bend in it if any?? The ones on Brewers and Passon have a definite bend that looks to bring them closer to the driver side. Does anyone have a picture of an original and...
Hello all,
I am looking for some measurements from a 1973 bench seat 4 speed shifter mounting plate, called the dog bone. Anyone have one lying around?
I am installing a 5.7 in a 73 Road Runner. There has been quite a bit of talk in this forum.
We have spool-type engine mounts (TTI sells them).
You need a center sump oil pan, most go with the Moroso 31000.
What transmission are you planning? You can use a 727 but you have to figure out...
I finally got it all working, thanks for all the help. There is a bit of a clunk on the driver side, but, I think the bushings may be worn out on that side.
Does anyone have a picture of the other side of the motor? I want to see which way the arm that attaches to the shaft is pointing in the park position.
I bench tested and everything worked fine....but there was no way to tell if it would line up with the linkage. Does anyone have a pic of the cowl side? I knew I should have taken one.
So.....I successfully rebuilt the 3 speed wiper motor so my park switch now works. However, when I put it back in, the shaft will not line up with the "D" on the linkage. It looks like the motor always parks in the 9 o'clock position when looking at it from the rear (cowl area) and the "D" is...
I was looking for the connector, but I found the at Classic Industries and Ebay. This is off the subject, but anyone know where to find just a single gauge lens for a rally dash. I need the one right next to the speedometer...
While I am at it, should I just do the shaft too? It looks like the kit comes with one.
I noted the position of the clocking marker, do I need to do anything else if I remove the motor from the firewall? Do I need to mark all the moving parts of the gearbox and switch assembly?
I really appreciate all the help on this. I took the switch apart and it looks like the contact has disintegrated. Is that small contact ribbon supposed to have something on the end?
Ok....I did a bench test and the high speed and low speed work, the reverse does not work on the motor. Is there a fix for this or do I just need a new motor?
It looks like a wiring / switch / motor problem, I am trying to wade my way through it. If anyone else needs it, the link below was very helpful.

It stops wherever they are when I turn them off.....so I will investigate the switch and wiring. It looks like this is not the first time this has happened, as I see some work has been done before.
Thanks, I have a 3 speed but, there must be something wrong with the linkage because it does not go to the park position, just regular wiping. I will read the article and see what I can figure out.
Got it, I had to put a screwdriver to pry the hinge spring a bit so it would start straight.
Where do they line up at the full down position? Are they supposed to hide under the cowl? When I hide them, they go over the cowl stainless steel trim every time they wipe and they only get about 2/3...
