Exactly!! The two tags you have posted are inverted with BIW vs SPD. The 244225 car was built days before the 245727 but not according to the SPD on the tags. Thanks again for posting, keep them coming! D

It just goes to show the VIN are sequential but not chronological. Please post the tags you have listed as the top line of the tag is important as the body in white number is both sequential and chronological. D

Alternator date codes are (week - year). Looking at the picture posted it appears to be 3 - 68, or third week of 1968. This would be extremely early for a May 1969 built car. Even if the date is 3 - 69, it is still early but at least in the ballpark. Can you see any of the pinwheel date...

The EAD is a month and day format. I would expect to see the day in April the engine was assembled on the pad. It may a lite stamp but should be there. February or March dated exhaust manifolds would be most correct for your car. D
