The Edlebrock dual plane works as well. That is what I have on my 440 now with the TrickFlow heads. Back when the motor was built, it had iron 1977 motor home heads on it and still made 476HP and 502 ftlbs of torque on the engine dyno. Same heads in late 2019 when I put EFI on it, it made...
They come in white and a variety of other color options. I have the same seats in white in our GTX. They always get comments.
They do hold you in place very 2well with both the side & bottom bolsters.
Personally, the side bolsters are a bit too tall for my wife to get in to the car and she...
Missed this somehow.. Here is our "X" at a local show.. I had left to go play softball and my wife called when I pulled into the garage to tell me that we got a trophy. Sooo, I grabbed my gear and headed back to the show...

Garp & retractable,
Thanks for the response to this.. Although the issues still remains, it is better since I installed a Spectra sending unit. It does need to have the float arm bent down a bit as it will not go below the 1/4 mark.

GetX'd:
One of my club members just finished his RR and it is a about the same as yours and he is running 91 with a bit of octane booster. No 93 in CA, but I have found street legal 100 octane at the pump in my area (N. San Diego County) for around $9.00/gal. I haven't used any yet, but I may...
I received my quarter panel emblems today and they are a brushed finish rather than shiny chrome! Pleasantly surprised. I will post a pick later..
Jeff
EDIT: Pics added...
Is there a size difference between the '68 & '69 GTX quarter panel emblems?
The ones on our '68 are pretty bad and I can only find '69 emblems. If those will work, then that's the way I will go...
Thanks,
Jeff
Who is the best source for new springs & torsion bars for my '68 GTX 440.
I have looked at various sources and prices are all over the place and I am not sure that what I am looking at is correct for the car. I know it has to be 6 leaf on the drivers side and 7 on the passenger side. I have...
Not so quick..
The total time for the project was almost 2 weeks. The motor had already been built. I needed 2 days to strip and paint the engine bay and they took the balance of time to install, test and check the new motor..
As far as the right foot goes... OH WOW! When I drove it...
Oh well,
We didn't quite make Friday, but we picked it up on Saturday morning!
Oh wow, what a difference...
Here is a pic of the almost finished project. Still need to pick up my new valve covers from the powder coater and install those. Then it goes back to get the torque strap...
Next Step...
Finished!
It turned out great! I am stunned by the paint match..
To get the goo off, I used Goof-Off. Nasty stuff. I used a respirator and multiple pair of gloves.
Here are the latest pics and a pic of the new "Heart" for the GTX....
Here is the finished engine...
Progress....
Here are a few pics of work to date. Engine is out and the bay is cleaned out. Today, detail clean around the seams, scuff, clean and spray QQ-1 blue to match the outside!
Engine ready to come out...
All the black goo that was sprayed in the engine bay
All clean and...
Not me, the GTX!
The motor that came with the car is basically an unknown quantity to me. I have a rebuild sheet that came with the car dated in 2000. Although, the only milage I can verify is from 2004 on, it is still 14 yrs old, with a deep knock down inside until it warms up.
So a...
The wire harness to the rear of the car is brand new. That being said, I will use this bit of info when I get to work on the car next week...
Many thanks to everybody, especially Kiwi for the pic of his sender!!!

The old unit is long gone...
Since the unit that is in there now is relatively new, I don't think the float is leaking, but that could be possible. As for the float arm being too long, I like that as a better possibility.
If someone out there has a NOS or an original sending unit that is out...
I can't say for sure, but I believe we did ohm it out prior to install. I have been searching out different manufactures and no one seems to say "Where" their product is built.
I did see Spectra and most likely will go that way. I will ohm it out to see where it falls in the arm swing.
Also...
