Please help me make the right decisions

I don't see why you can't install a hardened seat with a larger valve, such as a 2.14 intake or 1.81 exhaust. I'm sure it's been done.

best carb for a 477 big block stroker?

I agree with Cranky, a street car works best with a vac secondary carb. I've always liked the 3310 Holley 780. I ran low 12s with one of those on a 413 in a 65 Belvedere. - - - Updated - - - Good luck!

best carb for a 477 big block stroker?

Dont you just love these father and son projects? We are currently buying another 69 Roadrunner to work on. - - - Updated - - - That sounds like total duration, which is similar to what I am running. Mine is 292 duration intake and ex, and .509 lift. A great cam to use. Good choice.

best carb for a 477 big block stroker?

It will work great at lower engine speeds, above 4000 RPM is where it may start to fall off. We are running a 650 dbl pumper on my sons 383, and it is running low 12s with nitrous. What cam are you using? What Lift and duration? - - - Updated - - - This 383 is turning 5500 RPM thru the lites...

best carb for a 477 big block stroker?

If its a street car, you will get much better throttle response with a smaller carb. Start with what you have and move up from there. - - - Updated - - - I have seen a Cuda running 10s with a 750 CFM carb. - - - Updated - - - Are they iron or alum heads?

best carb for a 477 big block stroker?

Maybe add 2 gallons to six or eight gallons of 50/50 mix. Keep in mind that E 85 will tend to lean out the mixture as it needs larger jets in the carb if you run it full strength. - - - Updated - - - What heads are you using? What cc chambers?

best carb for a 477 big block stroker?

I am running an 850 Holley dbl pumper on my 451, and it is working real good. At 13 to 1 C/Ratio, I have to run 50/50 Sunoco 100 with 91 premium. But I am at 5600 feet. You may need a little higher octane since you are prob around a thousand feet above sea level? - - - Updated - - - You can...

Please help me make the right decisions

You can use the dual 4 set up if you want. Just plan on less throttle response, worse gas mileage, and maybe the same max power output as with a good single plane and a 780 to 850 CFM carb. 4.88 gears are a little much for street use in my opinion. I run 3.91, and that is the most I will go. -...

    1966 Plymouth Belvedere II

Wouldn't hurt to pick up a "donor" car with a good interior. If you can find one. Or maybe a big block car to use for parts. There are so many little pieces to put in, if you have never done one its gonna take awhile to build. A Parts car shows you how everything is put together. Even having a...

    Hard pull to left

After changing the left (and right) front brake shoes, the car brakes straight and quiet! So didn't bother to change the hose and wheel cylinder. Problem solved.

    Hard pull to left

Swapped left and right drums, no difference. Put new shoes on right front, about the same. Next will put new shoes on left front. Also have a new flexible brake line and wheel cyl ordered. Will put those on tomorrow, then post results here.

    Hard pull to left

Thanks 4 all your ideas. I will be checking it out after the 14th. I'm suspecting air or bad hose. Sure I can find the problem soon. Will post a result when fixed.

    Hard pull to left

Good point, Photon. My 69 RR had a blocked neoprene rubber brake line that went to the rear brakes which rendered them useless. Replaced that one, and now they work fine. I know 1 front brake line was replaced on the Satellite, but can't remember which one. I will check it out. - - - Updated -...

    Hard pull to left

Hi everyone! I just got a 67 Satellite, 400 engine (not original one). When I step on the brakes, it pulls hard to the left. I pulled off the right front wheel, and that brake was adjusted way loose. So I adjusted it up to where it just drags a little, and same problem. So I am suspecting air in...

    67 Satellite

Hi there, I also just bought a 67 Satellite from: you guessed it! The great state of Ohio. Then I drove it back to Colorado. Only used 106 gallons of gas! Lol. I saw a red one 4 sale out there on C List. Would this happen to be the One? I believe the interior was white?

Spilling Fuel on Fill Up...66 Satellite

I just got a 67 Satellite, and had the same issue each time I filled up. Sometimes it would over flow onto my nice paint job, some times it wouldn,t. Whats the best way to clean up the gas stains on the paint? Rubbing compound? Wax? What would protect the paint?

    67 Satellite

Sure thing, they really make a nice addition to the front end. In Denver now, only issue is the noisy belt. Will fix that soon. It was stalling when you brake hard. The float level was set way low, which uncovered the jets under hard braking. Raised the float level, no more stalling.

    67 Satellite

Thanks, the alternator is making the belt squeal. I think the bearings are going out, causing it to drag some. Replaced the belt and volt reg. Auto Zone said the reg was bad. But the belt starts squealing after running for a few minutes. So ordered another alternator, will put it on today...

    Gas Tank Sending Unit

On My 67 Satellite I just bought, the gas gauge wouldn't work. I ran a jumper wire from the wire off the tank, right next to the fuel outlet line,to a good ground. That pegged the gauge on the dash so I knew that side was good, From the tank back. So problem was in the sending unit. Or the...
