Hey everybody I'm currently in the middle of gathering parts for a 4 speed a833 swap in a 1965 coronet thats currently running a 318 poly. I have all of the "big" pieces like the tranny, bell housing, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, the pedals, and the floor hump. Now I just need some help...
But was it worth it? to me a stick shift car will just be a lot more enjoyable to drive previously owning a stick-shift sports car moving onto an automatic with this car as the weekend car, I really want to swap it over.
Ill start looking, me being on a budget will be a challenge to go through but i can always stop and save up more to get everything right. I got more time than i do money.
The challenge seems to be doing it with used parts under a certain price and im in no rush to gather all the parts, i can leave the car sitting for a bit although nice weather is coming up and would love to drive it, i could miss one driving season. Ill take the challenge of doing it under a...
that's exactly what I don't want, that's why I came here for some answers haha. Doing more research before and hoping I can do the 4 speed swap to make the driving more fun.
does the steering column have to be swapped out? id think it could stay because everything would be disconnected I could just remove the shifter lever. I don't mind if it doesn't look pretty, I just need it to function.
I've got a 65 dodge coronet, really what I'm looking for in comparison is price on the parts. If I can get do a 4 speed swap in around the same price if not less than what I can buy a new with warranty 727 then ill go the 4 speed route.
Whats up mopar people, i have a 318 poly with a 727 and the auto trans just isnt as fun and is already getting warn out. My options now are going to a new 727 with a good torque converter, or swapping it to a a833 trans. I am not knowledgable in mopar stick shift swaps. Can somebody give me...
I am in need of a 727 transmission and i found one that is a 66' and up BB 727 trans and i have a 65' 318 SB. So i would need to buy a kit for the shifter and not sure what else, but i was wondering if there was an adapter plate for a 727 BB to a SB. HELP PLEASE:thumbsup:
Ok thank you this is very helpful actually, of what i remember i dont think the crack caused a full leak, but the leaking did stop for a while when i patched it up. But thank you i will check out the front seal then and see if that is the problem in the end.
this is the crack on my trans, i patched it up a while ago with some jb weld mix, but after a while it just doesnt do the job and begins to leak, the crack is just one long crack in the middle of that whole patched surface
Thanks! this seems like a simpler things to do since its been pretty hard to find a 65 trans, and id like to add some performance features so a 67 up trans seems like trans to get for that
Hey FBBO members, i have a 65' coronet with a 318 poly hooked up to a 727 transmission, the tranny is not a push button, but it still uses the same cable as a push button trans i believe, ive been needing a rebuild as my first gear is grinding and my transmission case has a big crack that causes...
