My right exhaust manifold is broken by this weird exhaust valve.... Is there the manifold for the n 400cui even without this pointless part? If someone has a suitable manifold, bring it on

Looks like they are reversible. Maybe you got a bad one?? None of that explains the smoke tho!!
I've reused heavy copper exhaust gaskets many times.... if they get too hard you can carefully anneal them with a torch..... just dont put too much heat in one place.

In the many pics available for the car, look under.... I've never seen exhaust manifolds like the ones on that car.. they even have support brackets back to the pan...
Hi temp silicone is only a little better than regular silicone at 600 degrees. I like Fran's first idea...just tie it on to get you through the process.
You mean Vac-U-Pan?? Any pix of the install, and the locations of the welded in wyes?
They really are made for open header, high rpm. If you are testing them at idle, I'd say its not going to work well if open headers, and not at all with any muffler.
I'm finishing up putting a 383 back in my '69 Dart tonight....... now looking at backtracking a little and moving the motor back a 1/4" and up a 1/4" or 3/8", so I can get the steering link off the pan (and it's already a 187) and some room to tweak the drivers side header off the starter a...
