    You will find an orange wire under the dash, this is the instrument cluster lamps and will dim with the switch. There is a three wire a connector in the center part of the dash that takes a bullet connector. Consult your service manual,,,,

    How are you cranking?,,, Sounds like you are turning on key and jumping relay? check for voltage at coil and ballast resistor. Run a jumper from bat to pos. coil term....All you have in column is turn signals and horn, nothing in there to stop it from starting.
