The tail light thread has confused me again. (Not too hard to do...)
My car has triple taillights, bench seat, typewriter shift and what looks to me like the 500 trim package with nothing saying "500". Is it just a "Polara"?
You sir hit the nail on the head with your suspicion of something else going on. I bought the car last weekend from an older fellow who has several mopars and apparently just "cruised" with this one. It had some erratic missing and what seemed like a full miss in one cyl at idle. The PO may not...
Thanks! I wish I could claim to have built it but I didn't. Was looking for a 63-65 Mopar project but found this with almost everything I had planned to do. I could not have built it for what I bought it for. It was built in 1997 and meticulously maintained. It needs a valve job so I may go...
Thanks guys! I guess I should have titled this thread differently. What I really was looking for was a carburetor that would improve flow with minimal bog. The old Carters apparently worked OK with the pushbutton 727 behind a 426 Wedge, are they available, or what is an aftermarket alternative...
The 1964 Polara I just bought has a push button trans. The motor is a 440 built to 1970 Magnum specs. It has a little Edelbrock 600 carb and in the paperwork that came with it was an email sent to the previous owner by the guy who built the car explaining that the small carb was because you cant...
You guys are up early for a Sunday. Thanks. I now know what a B and an RB motor is and that the 413 is a small bore 440. Adding boost is not likely even though it would be a lot of fun. Is there a smaller chambered head that could help raise compression? Is decking an RB motor a possibility?
I am hoping to soon own a 64 Polara that the current owner says has a 413 from a low mileage motor home with a set of "440 906" heads installed. I have a lot of pie in the sky ideas for this car....doesnt everyone? If I wanted an aluminum intake, is this combo compatible with 383-440 parts...
It's a Polara. I looked at Plymouth and Dodge 64-65's a long time and I like the Polara best. The side trim is the dogs bollocks IMHO.
I will be posting pics the minute the deal is done.
Ok, first post beyond introduction. Been lurking and drooling. Some amazing cars here. Looking at a 64 Polara that is missing some trim, specifically the leading edge of the hood and the deck lid emblems. It is also missing door locks. Are these types of things terribly hard to come by? Are they...
