Converting 1966 Steering Column from Column to floor shift

When it comes time to paint it the best (IMHO) color to use is “Landau Black” made by SEM. From what I have heard, that is the color that was used by mopar. I have also heard SEM is the only supplier. Every time I have used it I have been completely satisfied with the way it matches oem parts

Converting 1966 Steering Column from Column to floor shift

I gave up trying to find one at a cost that didn’t empty my wallet. I took Mine, cut off The indicator housing and gearshift lever bump, filled the holes in with epoxy, sanded and painted.

    Belt retractor instructions

I came across this little box of seatbelt items for a dollar, so I grabbed them. Included in the box was a sheet with instructions on how to use the retractors. For anyone who has had problems Getting retractors to work properly, here is that instruction sheet. I am not sure what the two little...

Silver touch up paint for dash bezels etc.

For this type of work the 1 mm tip pen is pretty useless. The paint in these pens is thin. You have to make sure that the tip of the pen is not completely saturated with paint or else when you touch the tip to a surface all of that paint will run right off the tip and you’ll have a blob of paint...

Silver touch up paint for dash bezels etc.

This bezel was completely redone. Black spray paint, Molotow paint pen, and white paint pen. The black color is called Landau black. It is the OEM color. It is made by SEM. I have been told they are the only manufacturer to sell this color. The photos really don’t capture the reflectivity of the...

Silver touch up paint for dash bezels etc.

After spending a lot of money on “chrome” bottle and spray paint (all basically silver paint), I have been very pleased with the Molotow pens. Are you going to do the white letters? I recommend a chisel tip white paint pen.

    Seatbelt assistance please

Are you still looking for pictures? Here are a couple from my 68 coronet. I tried showing you where the outside bolt goes in relation to the rocker panel screws. If you need some thing else let me know.

    What's up with 66/67 Clocks

Some of the mechanical clocks back from that time had a speed adjustment feature. If the clock was running fast, every time you reset the clock backwards, it would slow the clock down a little. So supposedly After several resets of the time, the speed of the clock would get closer and closer and...

    68 Coronet Front Speaker Replacement

These type of nuts are used (only with a smaller hole). When putting the nuts back on, I have had good luck taking a small piece of tape and taping the nut to the socket to keep it from falling out of the socket. I am sure someone else on the forum will know what size the nuts are. I am not...

    68 Coronet Front Speaker Replacement

Pull the radio and you should be able to get at it. There are four nuts that hold the speaker in. The studs those nuts go on are attached to the dash, So that is what allows you to take the nuts off and then replace them. It is not easy, but compared to pulling the whole dash, which means...

    1969 Coronet 440 Bucket Seat Identity ?

You are correct about the availability of buckets. They were standard on the RT and 500 and not available on the 440 or Deluxe. On both the RT and 500 both the console and buddy seat were optional. Do both of the bucket seats in your pictures recline?

Seat Belts- What am I missing?

I see from the pictures in the link from the last post that The shoulder harnesses did get changed from having female Ends in 1968 and 1969 to having male ends in 1970. There are two bundles with three belts each that bolt on either side of the transmission tunnel. You have one of those, the one...

Seat Belts- What am I missing?

I am at a loss as to what those two very long belts on the left with male buckles are for. On 1970 vehicles did the shoulder harnesses have male ends? In 1968 and 1969 the shoulder harnesses had female ends. There was a metal male end held to the roof by the sunvisor bolts. The female ends of...

    '68 RR Shoulder Belt storage

There are holes in the frame of the seat that are for the screws that hold on the retainers. Classic industries and I’m sure other companies also sell the retainers.

    '68 RR Shoulder Belt storage

If you bought a set of three belts from a bench seat car you would be all set. I do believe The outboard male belts came two different ways. One-way was just the belt itself, the other was with a retractor. Also there were belt keepers on the bottom front of the buckets and the rear seat. These...

    '68 RR Shoulder Belt storage

If you are asking if there should be 3 seat belts with a buddy seat, I don't know what the legal answer is, but my car came with a buddy seat and 3 seat belts. When restoring my car, I left the center front belts out, as I also went from automatic to 4 speed, which makes it virtually impossible...

    Standard Dash Differences?

That is where the convertible top switch or the rear defroster switch would have gone. Obviously, you could only have one of those options on a car. There were labeled bezels that went over the switch. The switch panels are interchangeable, even between Dodge and Plymouth. There are however two...

    Power Window Install?

That thick red wire with the in-line fuse coming off of the fuse block sounds like it is very likely the power line for the power windows. If there is a fuse in that in-line holder it would help to know the amperage of that fuse.
