you dont have to replace the flasher for led's you install a resistor because the led makes far less resistance and the flasher will flash really fast, don't see any reason for a fuse , already one in the fuse block
got half a day early out of school to work at a mechanic shop in high school, we would tear down the starters put the armature on the growler and rebuild if they were good, used to pull them off outside below freezing cause if you brought them in the cow **** rained down on you, good ol days
if you have access to a heat gun they work better on the heat shrink tubing ,and get hot enough to melt the solder in the connectors with solder witch have a heavier outer shield then most heat shrink tubing
not everyone lives in 90 % humidity , I have seen some parts from the Midwest that were still pliable , out west we have nice rust free bodies but our plastic is dust
50 year old plastic parts that have to flex are not goin to be very reliable, plastic is an oil product and it dries and shrinks and crumbles until it turns to dust , sometimes new old stock can be a waste of time and money ,if you get a new old stock piece don't use it after install if you want...
Do you have another carb, or know someone with one , it takes 15 minutes to swap one out , I REALLY doubt its electrical with those cylinders dead , besides you can pull a plug wire stick a phillips screwdriver in the end , hold the screwdriver next to metal and have someone crank the engine...
