I changed to DOT-5 3 years ago. DOT 5 wasn't as expensive as today. I used at least a bottle and a half to flush out the old DOT 3. It was just as good as the DOT-3 plus the added advantage of no paint damage.
to be honest I also don't think they're cool. They look too modern on the car. They are very practical though. I threw the towel after pulling the gauges out for the fifth time. Oil gauge dies first, then the speedo return spring got unwound, clock died, switches etc etc

Cold start (on choke it) idles at 1,200 rpm. Once warm, idle drops to 650-700 rpm. Vac of 15mmHg is at 700rpm idle.

Vac source is where it should be, triple checked that.
Pedal behaving normally as in, the pedal pulls down when I start the engine. The behaviour doesn't change once brakes are warm.

Is there a way to tell if my booster is dual or single diaphragm from the outside? There's no way to know from the history of the vehicle. It has discs in front and rear drums.
