The Dewalts you're referring to...corded? Or cordless? And IME the cordless tools today are surprising at the run time. Are you saying the buffer is an exception here?
My memory may be way off here...but from decades ago (IIRC) I remember dad laying paint only (2) ways:
1) Lacquer base color...
For starters I am going to try to gain some experience and finesse by shining up an old paint job on a '93 Cutlass Ciera I have. Original pain but very dull. Although it's a great, dependable car, I don't mind mistakes being made as I go through the learning curve.
I'd like to eventually be...
Does the "dual action" feature really make a difference?
It's advertised as minimizing the risk of swirl marks or burning the paint because it's "dual action".
One of the old car channels I watch on YT turned me on to one these several months ago. The draw was that it doesn't leave the swirl marks like traditional buffers do.
I remember back in the day the swirl marks always seem to reappear after dad buffed them. After the initial application of...
I'd like your $.02 here if you would be so kind...
It was tough deciding whether to post this here or in the exterior/body/paint section.
But I'd like to appeal to you guys who are up to speed with polishing/buffing/rubbing out a paint finish.
I'm looking to buy what I need to be able to...
Just had to do this tonight. Going to try to get started on some insulation in the shop so this helped make some room on the side we’re starting on.
Even a 2-post can be helpful for some temporary storage…
I had my lift delivered from the distributor to a local lift outfit that does installations. The distributor can provide you with names of companies in your area that do that. You can then schedule with them a convenient time for installation. They will deliver and install the lift. Saves you...
Yup, I gotta say that should suffice
And I was bracing myself for someone to say something snide about excess in response to how much concrete I had poured. But you done did good with yours, wow.
Never being exposed to a lift myself prior to this, I felt I had to go above and beyond...
I have a 2-post Rotary, 10,000lb asymmetrical lift. I have 12' ceilings and the lift clears by about 2-3 inches.
A bit overkill with concrete in the work area the lift is installed in. 7" deep, 5000psi concrete 14' x 18'. I have the lift installed smack dab in the center of that area.
The rest...
I'm dreading the finishing and the dust control. The shop is occupied and it'd be nice to somehow work around the cars being in there. I don't want to face reality here lol. Cross that bridge when I get to it.
Planning on faced, roll insulation. Of the different types of insulation we’ve entertained thus far, that seems to be most appealing cost-wise and I can do it myself. Also, most of my wiring is done and I don’t want it buried with spray foam. Been a slow go since the structure was built no...
Congratulations on the shop. Looking great!
We built a 36x48x12 in 2020 and I love it. Still working on getting it to where we want it. Few more things to wire and then starting insulation.
My next major step in our ‘36 x 48’ is faced roll insulation. Easy installation, can do it ourselves and far less expensive than spray foam in our area. It also makes servicing/reworking electrical that much less of a hassle.
But folks who have chosen the spray foam route I don’t typically hear...
