One of our shop owners Rodney, has a 78 Grand Fury with a 440 and he used Hedman block huggers. They fit with tons of room to spare. You might look at those.

    Harmonic Balancer Question

That's a good idea, Snoman. Since I work on stuff all the time, I try to keep what I need on hand, so I normally don't think about renting or borrowing.

    Harmonic Balancer Question

I like this one better. It's the one I have. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g1025 You might can get by with a 3 jaw puller. But if the balancer is solid in the center.....as Mopar balancers are, you will have to pull from the outside diameter. A lot of times the outer ring will pull...

    Harmonic Balancer Question

Summit sells some nice options. Also too, I always hone all of the ones I've ever installed so it's almost a slip fit. Makes it much easier to install and remove.

Re-body an LX car with a B body?

Not trying to cause a war, I am just askin a straight out question......why is it ok to rebody a car, but transfering a VIN is illegal? Seems like it's virtually the same thing.

    Dreaded "hemi knock"

Well that rules that out, doesn't it? I guess the noise is a mystery. Kinda like... :ufo:

    Dreaded "hemi knock"

I wonder if it can be turned off permanently? They may tell you no, but I bet it can.

    Dreaded "hemi knock"

They do. Cain't be resized, usually. The arguement rages over which is better. I won't get into that, but I won't use powdered metal rods, either, and I've read a TON about them.

    Dreaded "hemi knock"

If that's the case, just sling some headers on it.
  15. RustyRatRod

    Dreaded "hemi knock"

All the problems we've been seein have to do with them crap *** powder metal rods. Seen some of them just break, cause knocks...all kinda stupid maladies. Why they went to them, I'll never understand. Cheaper, I reckon. But they sure are junk.
