Nice project and a cool story and history...Congrats on finding it all these years later! Looks like it may have had the whole front inner front subframe/inner fender assembly replaced at some time? Is the car originally a light blue colour?

Have you removed all the interior side trim yet? A lot of the time a small fargment of the headliner material will survive under it and can give you an idea of what colour it might have been. But most likely blue to match the interior.

You don't necessarily need a press to remove or install those bushings...yes it does make it a lot simpler but I've done it many time with my big bench top vise. I usually just cook the rubber with a torch until the center sleeve pulls out, then just pry the hot gooey rubber bushing out. Now...

Just in case anyone else is confused on what colour went where on the car....I know I was having a hard time picturing it in my head. The body colour is QQ1 - Electric Blue Metallic, and the Roof colour is UU1 - Frost Blue Poly, and then a lower white horizontal stripe. And then a light blue...

For dependability and reliability I'd ditch the ignition system you currently have and get yourself a stock OEM mopar electronic ignition system, then if you do have problems out on the road you have a very good chance of getting repair parts from most places. New tank, replace all the rubber...

Trim looks great! When I was restoring my 68 cornet 25years ago there were no reproduction rocker mouldings available so had to try and find a set WITHOUT screw holes. Eventually found a set but had some bad curb rash. Old timer who restored cars and did trim restoration got them looking like...
