The Prorac 1968 sport satellite convertible restoration thread

Nice project and a cool story and history...Congrats on finding it all these years later! Looks like it may have had the whole front inner front subframe/inner fender assembly replaced at some time? Is the car originally a light blue colour?

    1968 GTX Resto

Have you removed all the interior side trim yet? A lot of the time a small fargment of the headliner material will survive under it and can give you an idea of what colour it might have been. But most likely blue to match the interior.

    My 68 Super Bee project

You don't necessarily need a press to remove or install those bushings...yes it does make it a lot simpler but I've done it many time with my big bench top vise. I usually just cook the rubber with a torch until the center sleeve pulls out, then just pry the hot gooey rubber bushing out. Now...

    1968 GTX Resto

Just in case anyone else is confused on what colour went where on the car....I know I was having a hard time picturing it in my head. The body colour is QQ1 - Electric Blue Metallic, and the Roof colour is UU1 - Frost Blue Poly, and then a lower white horizontal stripe. And then a light blue...

    1968 GTX Resto

Wow a factory 2 Tone paint car...and not a C-body! I would highly recommend restoring the paint and colour combo to factory original since you will likely never see another 2 tone blue on blue with a blue interior 68 GTX! I've always had a big soft spot for factory painted roof cars, I had a...

Another great photo of my car

Love the steel wheels and RWL tires! Just need a set of dog dish caps, but the chrome lug nuts look great as well!

1970 FM3 Satellite Conv - The car that should have been crushed

Absolutely love your car and the fact you kept it all stock satellite with a 318/2bbl just makes it that much better!

'66 Coronet new guy project... reliability advice?

For dependability and reliability I'd ditch the ignition system you currently have and get yourself a stock OEM mopar electronic ignition system, then if you do have problems out on the road you have a very good chance of getting repair parts from most places. New tank, replace all the rubber...

    My '69 Charger R/T Story

Amazing story and great work on the car...I hope you get it done soon enough that the original owners widow and Cliff can see it and enjoy it before you move!

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible Story...Past...Present...future...

So I don't have any more pics of the car once it got blasted and then all the metal, bodywork and paint done because I'd purchased a VHS camcorder so I was using that to record everything. I thought I had sent all the tapes I had to Wally when I sold the car, and we looked and hunted for them...

    CDN72SE's Restoration Thread

Trim looks great! When I was restoring my 68 cornet 25years ago there were no reproduction rocker mouldings available so had to try and find a set WITHOUT screw holes. Eventually found a set but had some bad curb rash. Old timer who restored cars and did trim restoration got them looking like...

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible Story...Past...Present...future...

During this time I was hunting down parts and came across a 1968 Coronet 440, 4dr 383/2V car in the wreckers. It had suffered a bulkhead and electrical fire so I was able to buy the complete car for $200 and another $25 for them to deliver it to my house! Car was completely rust free, but...

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible Story...Past...Present...future...

Then the disassembly began.... Rusty conv top header...both sides were about the same.... Floor didn't look to bad... Poor rad support... Bad pics but the drivers side entire quarter was very poorly replaced from a donor car....held with rivets, screws, brazed wires and nails, and...

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible Story...Past...Present...future...

So here is the excited and happy 19 year old owner of this cool old 4spd convertible! And pics the day it got home... It had 69 fenders that were converted to 68's, and it had been in a couple accidents as you can see the rad support was cut out and mostly missing...no numbers...

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible Story...Past...Present...future...

Well after seeing the convertible I decided that this would be a way cooler car then my Charger so the charger went up for sale and I bought the coronet. I made the purchase of the car Aug 21/1993 and paid $3K for it...yeah it was probably way to much but was young and had big dreams! Can't...

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible Story...Past...Present...future...

I knew about a 69 Charger sitting in a barn out in the country side so I made a trip out and was able to buy it for $2K. Pic from when he rolled it out of the barn... I had to take the car without the rims or I wouldn't have been able to afford it. ;) It was a 1969 Charger, with a 400/4bbl...

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible Story...Past...Present...future...

Well time to get started on the history of my car, I'll be going back a couple years and explain how I ended up with the coronet. So it was around 1990 and I had just got my driver license and my brother was working a Ford Dealership called William Clark Ford. I was looking to buy an old car...
