I just used SPI epoxy primer for the first time on an engine bay. Love the way it sands, filler feather edges right into it. Great stuff and a good website with a forum, all questions answered.
After a ton of research I decided to take the engine bay all the way down to bare metal and then coat with SPI epoxy.

As for the panels I think I'll work on one at a time, sand off the lacquer primer...
Yup, that's the entire problem, what product to use?
One thing for sure, I am not stripping the entire car to bare metal. The panels are too nice, and require only minimal spot repairs. Sure wish that someone hadn't covered the entire care in lacquer primer, but that's the way it was done...
Since I want to leave (most of whats on the panels after the lacquer primer is removed) the factory paint and original primers do I need to use something other than epoxy primer?
I planned on using SPI epoxy primer on my project but when reading through the tech sheet it says not to use over lacquer paint. Here's what I have to work with:
