I've been driving my Charger more and more - LOVE that car, especially now that the front end is right, the carb is right, the alignment is right.... - and the center vent outlets are just...trashed. The pivoting uprights are there, but not really attached and just sorta flopping around. I'm...
Yeah, these wiggle in the hole so they aren't tacked. Round stud, about 1.5" long, with a square shoulder at the track, mates with the square hole in the track. The only thing I can think is, they were pressed in, and slightly flared once installed to keep from falling out.
I put the interior back in my Charger this weekend because I wanted to drive it while I wait for AMD to make the floorpan that I need...and I was curious about something.
I'm 6'4", so I don't "fit" in a lot of cars. My reach to the pedals is OK, but the steering wheel is awfully close. I...
Wow, that's a persistent little bastard. Hang him by his tail by the door, so all the other rats in the area know what's up - like they used to do in medieval times after killing enemy soldiers. Stake 'em up and let 'em rot, as a warning to others.
I'd suggest a finish coat of some sort over the rust converter - like primer, you don't want to leave it bare because it can/will hold moisture. It can't tell the difference between moisture and paint...all it knows is, it's designed to hold on to it.
Yeah, I'd do the thick-textured gray stuff that you have to roll on, with the foil side that faces the carpet. Not concerned about heat, but the car has 2-chamber flowmasters on it (for now) and I'd like to quiet things down a bit in the cabin (good news is, I don't have to worry about any radio...
I have the interior out of my new-to-me 70 Charger and will be getting one spot in the floor replaced due to rust (driver side, rear seat footwell). The rest of the floors are rock-solid with good factory paint on them. I see a lot of folks with the silver dynamat/noise mat on their floors and...
The slotted end of the part slides under the back of the main door sill plate, and around the rearmost screw. Then, tighten the screw. Press up against the quarter panel trim, and set the rearward screw - there should be a hole in the floorboard for it. If you have new floors, I can take a...
Yep, just a bright white. Like a movie screen - you want a max-reflective color, but non-luminous. Plain ol' white. And paint the backside of the lexan, so the lexan can carry the light across the face.
I have the electronic hypersonic generators that plug into an outlet, they were in the garage when I bought the house. Dryer sheets seem to work well for me so far along with the noise generators, but once in a while I'll find a mouse in my car wash bucket - I started keeping a lid on it to keep...
The harness is in fine condition, except where this meatball hacked it up. Can someone pull their horn relay into view and tell me what wires go into it, by chance?
Maybe my back spasms will have quit by next weekend and I can try to hit a junkyard to see what I can find...
My hope is, I'll figure out and repair the wires that they tapped into for the horn, and somehow the dash lights will come back online. Maybe they cut the wrong wire when they did that horn thing...but I usually don't get that lucky.
As for function, EVERYthing in the interior works other than...
I still need to figure out how to disassemble it...column is lowered, cluster is loose, I can get the outer (headlight switch end) end about 2" from the installed position, but the inner (wiper switch) end is getting caught behind the center a/c vent surround piece. Does it all need to somehow...
So, the previous owner wired in a dixie horn setup with some....hillbilly-level wiring (and I'll leave it at that). I've downloaded and printed out the wiring diagram, and I've done quite a bit of wiring in my life so I have no problem reading it...but I'll be damned if I can find what these...
Yep, it's straight, just no springs on the horn "button" area so it's flopping around. I figure I'll start troubleshooting electrical (no dash lights, blower motor always on, no horn) while I'm waiting for floors to arrive...
Appreciate the tips!
Hi, I have a '70 Charger (recent purchase) and the horn center (3 plastic prongs at 3,6, and 9 o'clock, with two metal loops down by the wheel rim) is just flopping around, and the horn doesn't work. I've tried pulling, but it won't come off - do I need to pop out the center Dodge medallion to...
My main concern was, "can they be removed from the tracks or are they welded in?". Now that I know they come out, I can figure out what to use to replace it with.
