You might try a DEI heat wrap for the starter as opposed to wrapping the headers. I use their stuff on the wires the run close to the headers and it seems to be doing the job.
I got tired of jacking around with the factory switch and ordered a 75228-03BX Cole Hersee Rotary Switch for this setup. The new switch works excellent with the Dakota motor and wires up like the diagram. I'm sure someone with more knowledge of the inter-workings of the factory switch could...
Thought i would do a brief write up on my wiper motor setup. I had a good core laying around for my 67 Coronet but couldn't see the point in spending upwards of $300 having it rebuilt for a restomod type ride. After doing some internet perusing I thought I could adapt a newer style Chrysler...
I had a similar issue but mine is a manual so ignition 2 is spliced I to ignition 1 in order to get full voltage to starter and the rest of ignition system. At first I only had ignition 1 hooked up and was only getting 6 volts at coil. On an auto I believe ignition 2 is part of the neutral...
I have a Low milage Pertronix III ready to run distributor I bought for my sons cordoba 400 that got sent to the crusher. Maybe has 100 miles on it. Would sell for 150+ the ride. Hit me up if your interested.
I am installing some in my project. They require extensive headlight bucket work. I will only be using 2 since they are extremely bright. Thinking of doing air intake setup in the other 2 holes.
From Cbodies forum.
The blue or gray or black box is stock. The orange box is aftermarket mopar and supposedly has a bit more dwell than the stock. The Chrome is also a street strip box with supposedly even more dwell time for a hotter spark and better combustion. Gold box is race only...
My big issue with Painless is they play the Mopar premium game like so many other aftermarket manufacturers. Ron francis charges basically the same amount for the chevy, ford and Mopar kits. Painless sells you a GM kit with a few special Mopar connectors and colored wires then charges twice the...
I used a ron francis setup and have run wiring under fenders. I had also purchased one of the cheepo harnesses like the one from speedway and was not impressed. When compared to the ron francis setup the wires are not even in the same league. The cheapos use tin,ed copper with really thick...
You can purchase long strips like 24" and they have indents where they can be cut every 6 inches. I also have some that may work for you. let me know the measurement of the lenses and Ill see if they will fit under them. If they will fit Ill just send you a couple.
I would look into led strip lights for such a conversion. Eliminates the need for an interior bulb housing and can be patched into existing park or blinker wiring.
There is a clip on each of those pins. use an awl, pick or very small flat head to release it. it help to push the wire up into the connector a bit while simultaneously depressing the clip. Once the pin is wedged than you can pull the wire down and it will pop right out.
