Hey, I just went onto ebay & typed in "168 led" as lots of listing came up. Several were 10 or 20 bulbs in a pack for $6-8. I remember 198s were a compatible switch out too.
Anyways, good luck to ya.
No problem, hope you find a better deal there which I'm sure you will. I believe I went with the cool white with mine too, it seemed to just enhance the factory colors while making them brighter.
I have to tell you something funny and ironic. When you posted pics of your car I recognized one...
You mentioned you wanted to source out some cheaper bulbs. I changed all my bulbs in my '66 Belvedere dash and other places with the LEDs too. As you said, Much brighter!! I simply went onto Ebay and typed in the bulb # and led, like 194 led bulb and thousands of listings came up. I bought...
Wondering if you guys could post some pics of how you routed your aftermarket auto shifter cables 'through the carpet'. I want to keep it clean looking and thought what better way to look for ideas than to ask you guys. I wasn't happy in the past how I had done it so looking to change it on this...
Thanks! It's Krylon number 1403, I'm really happy with how it came out and like I said before from what I could tell it's a dead ringer for the factory silver. The friends of mine that do restorations professionally use it, too. On a sidenote, Goose is that you?! Lol

Mr.SpeedFreak, Forgive me if this has been stated in your posting somewhere but which exactly "dull aluminum" paint did you use for your grill? It appears to have a very good look to it.
Not sure what the market is like inyour area but my good friend here in Portland,Or does restos in his shop we built on his property. We both grew up working on cars and enjoyd it emensly. He went into bodywork and eventually opened up his own shop. He tells me now after about 20+ years of doing...
Whether you're "cheap person" or not when you get this thing on the road it'll all be worh it, even if you only spend 1/10th the amount others do.
Good luck & have fun!!
Sometimes not being the norm is what makes it that much cooler! Personally I really love the way it looks. I can respect it just as much as someone who's doing an original restoration. Both take lots of time and effort, including a few bloodied knuckles and cases or KEGS of BEER! Doing the...
Oh yes, the praverbial open headered big block initial fire up witching hour. Had many of those!
By the way, how come we can never get those things ready for fire up in the middle of the day?? Wierd.:thinker:
Thats an awesome car you picked to work on, love the look of them.
By the way, buying your tools and organizing your garage was probably the best thing to start with. Its ALWAYS a pain in the a** to do it after the car is in there and half torn apart!
No need to say "have fun with it" because...
Well this is a great thread. I envy people like you because I have a good friend with a '72 Roadrunnr that did the same thing along side his house. Whipped out some bodywork & had Maaco paint it. I on the other hand tore my car down to try and do it the "right" way, well over a decade later mine...
